Yuri's breath is ragged as he tells his tale to Marle. We were delayed by the rain and unable to answer Carro's request for aid timely. We learned that she was held by the Mardoons. We were beset by their guards and captured trying to infiltrate one of their warehouses. That was where Griff and Jophyra were cut down.
As he finishes his tale he says, "Griff and Jophyra were near death when we were captured. I bartered my freedom for their care. How long have you been here, friend?"
Marle is relaxed in speech and manner, but an edge of hardness appears in his voice when he learns of the harm that befell the others.
"I'm glad the others will be well. You made the right choice. So long as we live, we can fight again. They picked me up at the inn moments after I arrived and brought me straight here; I've only been here a few minutes longer than you."
He pauses for a moment and considers, then starts taking a closer look at the lock on the door while saying, "How are your magical reserves? I've a few surprises up my sleeve. Perhaps our jailer has underestimated us and we can make an escape?"
Investigation for the lock to see if it might easily be picked or broken: 13
Yuri flashes a tired smile at Marle. He says, "I still have a few more spells left in me. If we can pick the locks on the cell doors and these." Yuri holds up his hands bound in irons.
Yuri's not sure but the runes on the shackles he's pretty sure void his magic the villains he's not captured by having anticipate that they would jail magic users. Magic might not be the exit strategy they can use to escape.
"You bloody cheat," both Yuri and Marle hear a woman's voice bellow as in the direction of the guard table bursts into laughter.
"That's how he manages to win most our coin every damned week," continues another voice deep and male to chide another you can only assume.
"You're both just so easy to read..." a gruffer male voice replies as the laughter continues.
"Hey where were you before? He's been relentless since yesterday," the female voice chimes in again.
"East docks...that damned dragon *****," the gruff male voice replies. "They're holding all the folks their building and enchanting those damned...guns," he adds next using the word as if he's unsure of it his tone annoyed.
"Sssssh," the female voice then hushes her fellow guard, "you didn't know her rescuers are in the cells...the other two are with the chanters," she adds as the table falls quieter as if the guards now murmurer to one another.

Recognizing his shackles are designed to subdue his sorcerous powers, Yuri falls back on the skills of his youth. He once again thanks the rough environment he grew up in for instilling within him the hard lessons learned. Yuri shifts his wrists to produce his thieves picks tucked underneath his bracers.
<OOC: Unless you feel the guards would have searched the spell caster for thieves picks. If they didn't, does Sleight of Hand and proficiency in Thieves Picks stack for an advantage?>
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Seeing no obvious solution to the lock, Marle summons his familiar, Hyuuri (a Cooper's Hawk), from where he had dismissed it during the rain (since hawks don't really like the rain), and commands it to peak out of the bars in his cell and look towards the guards, then looks through its senses, hopefully giving him a good view of what is going on out there and in particular looking for the keys with the hawk's keen vision.
perception: 21 (using the hawk's +4 bonus and advantage due to the hawk's Keen Sight ability)
Looks like there's not much for Marle to do right now, so he leans back against the wall of his cell, nods his head forward, and listens carefully to what's going on around him.

Hyuuri sends Marle a view of the female guard who's wearing a large key ring on her belt. They all look like they're getting a little drunk too.

Yuri leans his head back and reflects. After a few moments he says, "Jophyra would most certainly have an idea on how to do so. I'm exhausted and my wounds pain me. I must rest to gather my strength. Perhaps, if I fained weakness they would send in a cleric and present an opportunity for you to pilfer the keys. They would probably just let me lie there. What do you think?"
Marle takes a closer look at the bars of their cell to see if there would be space to reach through and grab someone or something on the other side, and to judge how wide the corridor is.
Backing up a little to make sure he is out of sight, Marle says, "It looks like these shackles don't stop me from calling Hyuuri back to me. I'll see if I can also summon my blade," and attempts to summon his rapier to his hand through his weapon bond to see if the enchantments in the shackles will prevent him from bringing it forth.
"Hyuuri could create a disturbance in one of the other cells to draw them forth. The trick will be getting them close enough to our side that we can get ahold of the keys."
Marle attempts to summon his weapon but it does not come. He thinks he got lucky with Hyuuri.
OOC: haha be nice Dennis. Comprises stands but as my granny says don't poke the badger....
The corridor between cells is 15ft wide and 60ft long. Each of the six cells are about 10 by 10. The guards are sitting in a corner beside the only entrance and exit 40ft away.
OOC: Also note your cells are separated by a stone wall you're not in the same cell but I'm assuming you're talking by sitting close to the separated wall but the small gap between the stone and metal bars. I'll say Yuri's had a short rest. Roll hit dice if you'd like.
You both then hear excited shouting and greetings you then hear the protests of Jophyra and the soft tones of Griff. They are the placed in the two cells across from Yuri and Marle.
"What you think they're keeping them around for," a greasy haired human man says curious.
"Target practice," another man says with a smirk spitting on the ground outside the cells before they burst out laughing.
"It's good that you're well, friends. I feared the worst when Yuri told me what happened. Have your wounds been treated? Are you in any condition for action if an opportunity arises?"
Marle pauses to see if the guards are alerted by whispering across the hallway.
Jophyra notices three guards are playing cards by the only door in or out. There is an unknown person in the first cell on the right, the middle cell has Marle in it, and the last cell holds Yuri. Jophyra's is in the first cell on the left and Griff is placed in the middle cell. The cells are damp, filthy, but well fortified. The light in the dungeon is low by the cells themselves but there's plenty of torches light and even a lantern by the guard table. They all seem a little drunk and the card game seems to be consuming most of their attention after the guards whom brought you and Griff in left.

"In the Adventures of Adimur Silvertongue, he seduces the guard and she sets him free of her own will. Sly Gennie tricks the guard into coming close and grabs the keys from his belt without the guard being any the wiser. Sadly, I am poorly suited to seduction or deception."
Marle looks around again, and continues, "This dungeon is well designed. There is no reason for them to get close unless we make one. These shackles do not seem to affect Hyuuri's magic, so perhaps we could use him to lure the guards back here, or to surprise one of them into stepping close enough for us to grab.
