As Invaih leans back on one of the wagons, in the long shadow projected by the campfire. Staring up at the sky, he can't help but wonder what in the world Travok is plotting; what was going on with that boar, and that bear now? He briefly considers cutting it loose, but remembered how the boar seemed friendly to the thugs earlier that tenday. More importantly though, he wanted to find that dwarf, wanted to know his plans, his end goal... Straightening and having faith in his friends to ward him against a knife in the night (as well as not being fully unconscious while performing it), he begins to trance; his back to the wooden side of a wagon, palms resting on his blades' hilts.
Darkness has fallen, the moon has risen, and the stars are out. Everyone in camp has turned in for the night besides two sentries carrying lanterns and the bear, its ominous glowing eyes staring in your direction from under the tarp covering its cage. You spot glimpses of movement within the trees which you assume are just leaves blowing in the wind. The whole camp is surrounded in an eerie, sinister feeling. You notice that there are seemingly less people here than there were at the beginning of the journey.
What do you plan to do next?

You walk in to a small clearing between trees, and to your surprise, vines begin to grow up around your legs, causing you to stumble and trip, after a moment, your movement is restrained. You hear a high female voice somewhere near you say firmly: "Hands up! You'll be dead in seconds if I see you reach for your weapons."
The vines grow tighter around your legs as you chop away at them, a crossbow bolt flies over your head implanting itself into another tree, "Next time, I won't miss. Drop them." Another voice comes from out within the trees, with similar pitch, yet male, "I think you know what. Your corruption is not welcome here. Why are you away from the others? All the way out here?" The voices seem to be above you.

"The hero sought to save the world.
"If I keep trying, I'll be able to win," the hero thought.
But the harder the hero fought, the further the world seemed to tumble away.
Drowning in doubt, the hero could not even save themselves.
Hero, if you still believe in a brighter future, hold in your heart a thorn that can pierce all doubt."
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Invaih gets up from his meditation, and turns to regard the bear. Then, sneaking about and making nary a sound (20), he moves about the camp in the darkness, curious if the creature could follow his movements.
He had mastered the technique of Umbral Sight after all; he ought to be invisible to anything relying on darkvision to see, and far enough (and moving downwind) to avoid being tracked by scent. But that was no longer a normal bear... did it gain new senses? That was the question he had to find an answer to this night.
The bear follows your movement, as you walk around the grave. It emits a long drawn out growl, waking one of the people sleeping next to the cage. He sits up, looks around camp, and promptly lies back down. You have not caught the attention of the sentries outside camp due to your long practiced stealth skills.

"That's right, mn-hm," The female voice says, "now keep them there." The male voice speaks out, "Now, please tell, what might you all be doing away from the rest out here and give us a reason we shouldn't just kill you all."

"Aye youd be better served pointing us in the direction of the real enemy. Its all a waste of time trying to talk it all out. There's black magic at work here and I duna think that standing around playing with our swords is gonna do a thing about it."
You hear the male voice laugh, followed by rustling in the trees above you. Two small figures hop down from above, gnomes, to be exact, one male and one female. "The name's Warryn, and that's my wife, Ella." the male says, gesturing to the female, "Seems you're working for the same cause we are. Terribly sorry about all that, could you use a hand?"

Determining there is nothing he could do about this aberration at the time, Invaih moves on to a more lucrative endeavor. He strolls around the campsite, staying out of the torchlight, making a headcount of the band, taking note of the weapons each cultist seemed to have ready at hand; archers, infantry, casters, he wanted to scout out their abilities before deciding his next move.
"We have multiple hands to spare in fact." Warryn grins, "Frankly, we haven't been too successful so far trying to fight these guys. You were the first opportunity we got, then you revealed yourselves not to be a part of all that. So tell me, how's it going for you?"

"Zegria! Put the sword down. Don't get yourself killed" Dari says firmly, then mumbling "...yet" under his breath. "What do you want with us?"
