''More than five hundred years ago, clans of dwarves and gnomes made an agreement known as the Phandelver's Pact, by which they would share a rich mine in a wondrous cavern known as Wave Echo Cave. In addition to its mineral wealth, the mine contained great magical power. Human spellcasters allied themselves with the dwarves and gnomes to channel and bind that energy into a great forge (called the Forge of Spells), where magic items could be crafted. Times were good, and the nearby human town of Phandalin (pronounced fan-duh-lin) prospered as well. But then disaster struck when orcs swept through the North and laid waste to all in their path. A powerful force of orcs reinforced by evil mercenary wizards attacked Wave Echo Cave to seize its riches and magic treasures. Human wizards fought alongside their dwarf and gnome allies to defend the Forge of Spells, and the ensuing spell battle destroyed much of the cavern. Few survived the cave-ins and tremors, and the location of Wave Echo Cave was lost. For centuries, rumors of buried riches have attracted treasure seekers and opportunists to the area around Phandalin, but no one has ever succeeded in locating the lost mine. In recent years, people have resettled the area. Phandalin is now a rough-and-tumble frontier town. More important, the Rockseeker brothers-a trio of dwarves have discovered the entrance to Wave Echo Cave, and they intend to reopen the mines. Unfortunately for the Rockseekers, they are not the only ones interested in Wave Echo Cave. A mysterious villain known as the Black Spider controls a network of bandit gangs and goblin tribes in the area, and his agents have followed the Rockseekers to their prize. Now the Black Spider wants Wave Echo Cave for himself, and he is taking steps to make sure no one else knows where it is.''
Recruiting 2 players for the Lost Mines of Phandelver campaign. Campaign started a little bit a go, but the old DM and one player left, so I’m taking over from there. Not much has yet happened (only a single combat and a little bit of introduction), and I’ll shortly recap what happened if you make it in. We should be running through the whole campaign book, and then we can see what happens from there. You will be starting at level one, and using milestone advancement. Currently, we have a Human Divine Soul Sorcerer and an Elven Monk.
Character Applications should include the following:
Name, race, class, background
stats (standard array or point buy)
personality traits, ideals, bonds, flaws
back story (one or two paragraphs are enough, with a reason for coming to Phandalin)
link to character sheet
Will likely be closing off applications in 1-2 days, depending on how many applications there are.
Rubin was captured by Drow when he was exploring some caves outside of Waterdeep. His family was killed by the drow during the fight to capture him. They held him captive in one of their outposts, not too far from the surface, for a couple of years. When he finally was able to escape, due to some adventurers fighting their way free as well, he followed those adventurers back to the surface.
One of those adventurers was related to a dwarf who had a mining operation in the works around Phandalin. He suggested Rubin head that way and see if he could aid his cousin there, since it sounded like they were looking for some aid. Rubin traveled towards Phandalin, since he had no where else to go.

She has a never of hobbies and past times, including music, dance, and games of skill and chance, but she also has a story about a lost friend or loved one associated with every one of them. back story (one or two paragraphs are enough, with a reason for coming to Phandalin)
- Serwa Omen was born from a corpse, and never knew why her mother and her fellow travelers were killed. A miner who adopted her, whose own wife and child had died in childbirth, died when she was in her teens of an infection following a mining injury. She became a soldier, and saw comrades, friends, and lovers die. She attended numerous funerals, and repeatedly saw the last rites given by a cleric of Kelemvor, Lawful Neutral god of death. Feeling it her destiny she became friends with the cleric, and entered into the service of Kelemvor as one of the few Paladins of the god.
She traveled to Phandalin knowing the rumors surrounding the place, and that there would likely be many souls consigned to the grave who would require the last rites of Kelemvor. She also has a strong sense of justice, and is willing to help ensure that the right people are put down.

Backstory:
Ando was tasked with ridding his mountain village of the goblin vermin. Working with his father and the town guard, he eradicated most of the goblins. In the process, it was discovered that someone near Phandalin had been recruiting goblins. Eager to prove his worth to his village and eradicate goblins that might threaten other towns, Ando tracked the news to the small frontier town where he now seeks companions to eliminate the goblins.
While skilled with a bow, Ando prefers getting a little closer to his quarry and fighting with a melee weapon like his spear or whatever else he can get his hands on.
I would love to join your group. I've been playing for about a year and really like to get into my characters and role-play. Thanks for taking the time to read my application.
Character: Tomora is a Hill Dwarf Druid with a folk hero background.
STR(10) DEX(14) CON(16) INT(10) WIS(16) CHA(8) - Point Buy
Personality traits: I get bored easily. Thinking is for other people; I prefer action. I prefer the mountains to towns and villages. I prefer simple honest folk over more 'civilized' people
Ideals: Freedom. Bullies and tyrants shouldn't be allowed to take advantage of people. Independence. Following laws and orders blindly is a form a slavery
Bonds: My father is my only family member and has gone missing. My ancestors were from the Wave Echo Cave.
Flaws: I speak my mind even if it gets me in trouble. I have a hard time hiding my distain for people of wealth or high status
Backstory: Tomora's father often told her the old tales of her clan; stories from a time when they mined the mysterious Wave Echo Cave and worked some magical forge within. To be honest, he was sort of obsessed with the stories and told them so often that Tomora got sick of hearing them. She didn't care a lick that her great, great grandfather was some great wizard or smith or wizardsmith something or other. In fact, her father was sort of an embarrassment; telling his crazy stories to clan members had earned him the moniker 'the loone'.
Tomora would much rather be off exploring the mountains. Which she often did much to her father's dismay. That was until one day she found her father was missing; just gone without a trace. Her only clue was rumors that a stranger had come around asking about the Wave Echo Cave...

ideals: Faith. I trust that my deity will guide my actions. I have faith that if I work hard, things will go well. (Lawful)
bonds: I will do anything to protect the temple where I served.
I owe my life to the priest who took me in when my parents died.
flaws: My piety sometimes leads me to blindly trust those that profess faith in my god.
back story: Ehlanna is travling cleric. Her job is to accompany groups of adventurers on their journeys and heal them. She also frequent various villages and heal the villagers ailments and injuries, for a small fee of course.
Elhanna Was born to a poor family with many siblings. Her parants were under a lot of strain as it were and an other mouth to feed was too much for them, so they gave her up to the local church. The church was small and didn’t have much coin either, but they agreed to take her in.
The years went by and Elhanna learned the ways of Mishakal. She got trained in the art of healing as well as reading, numbers and history. It was a hard but good life. She were treated well by the ministers and nuns and she always helped the villagers when ever she could.
One day the government decided to raise the taxes. It was nothing the church couldn't handle, they just had to cut down on some expenses. But the taxes would keep on being raised until they couldn’t afford it anymore. That was when Elhanna set out to be a wandering cleric and her mission is to raise money for her church.

APPEARANCE:
Black hair tied back to keep it out of his face, bronzed skin, piercing green eyes. About 5'4, young. Wearing a set of leather armor, also has a hood, but no robe. Multilple daggers can be seen strapped to his chest/side for ease of use. Bow slung over his shoulder, next to a quiver of arrows, across the other side of his back sits a short sword, ready for use.
Backstory Drohgas, after learning his craft in the High Forest, began to wonder what civilization beyond the forest boundaries was about. He ventured forth, heading west, through the Dessarin valley, until he came to the High Road. He decided to ply his trade, and see what experiences he could come across, so he moved through Thornhold, north past Carnath Roadhouse, and having seen enough of the coast line, began to head into the more wooded areas, finding his way to Phandalin. Staying in the shadows, and the welcoming woods of the area, he made his way into this nook of civilized area nestled in the Sword Mountains.
