(OOC LOL, I didn't think of the mule and the Rope Trick, with emphasis on the rope. Good point. That may be enough to force us to leave the library instead of hide in a hidden pocket dimension. The rest of the time, however, if possible with the mule, I do love Rope Trick!)
actually, it could. The space can hold up to 8 medium or smaller creatures. We have 5 ( Me, Halec, Chazeral, Jahren and the mule, if our DM is using the standard 5e mule statblock. )

I then spend a ki point to dodge, attack rolls have disadvantage.
Anthony misses the first time, it hits the second time "I'm not an elf, I'm a drow, Dumb**s, and fighting me alone? Such a dumb**s" he then casts Magic Missile at the third level (impossible to dodge).
(My concern with the mule was more the need to climb the rope. "space can be reached by climbing to the top of the rope.")
Jahren decides to keep "The Legends of Shimeria | Volume I: Birth of the Dark Lords" and return it to the library once it is bandit free and properly staffed. He has heard many stories of the original of the Dark Lords, but wonders if this book from another region might carry a different story in any way.
"Shall we take our leave and find a safer place to rest?" Jahren begins to try to lead the others out of the library if need be.
“Quite right, bring some reading material if you wish, and we can all briefly make our egress from the library, rest well, and return refreshed and ready,” Halec says. He will then exit the library with the intention of taking a full rest outside.
Jahren would probably glance at any titles he could quickly on their way out, depending on the perceived threat level and the speed of his friends. (Happy to make a Perception or Investigation roll, of course.)
While on your way out, you four walk in on the fight of Anthony and Slough, with Slough yelling at the dwarf "YOU ARE JUST TOO PERSISTENT, AND IT MAKES ME SICK, BEGONE YOU FOUL FOOL!" he then takes out a spell scroll and casts a spell that causes Anthony to disappear.
Anthony only:
You find yourself outside of the library, behind some rocks. it the sun is preparing to set on the horizon, and oddly, no one is guarding the front entrance.
Quietly Halec says to his allies, “We have the shard, my mule, and our equipment, that’s really what we came here for. We really have no cause to stay or to return to this place. Let’s just leave and seek out the remaining shard pieces, that’s what’s important.”
More loudly, Halec says, “We will be on our way, dark elf. I don’t know why you chose to spare us, but I suppose we do owe you for that. May our paths never cross again.”
before you can leave his sight, a wall of stone blocks your path. "Spare you?" he laughs maniacally "No, that's just what we do here, we knock them out, take their things, and lock them up. So it will either be this; fight me like men for something in your favor, or go away and never return."
“I guess we will go away, then, as you have nothing more that we need. We have the shard, and we need to go seek the others. You may or may not know, Slough, but someone destroyed the Ruby Snowflake and unless it is restored, this entire region, including this library, will collapse into a ravine,” Halec says. “You’re a powerful spell caster, and you likely have every reason to want to prolong your life as any sane person would. If you and your gang would like to commit your full forces to aiding us in finding the remaining shards in the interest of saving your own lives, you would be welcome. Otherwise we have no to me to waste I’m afraid, so we will be on our way.”
he smirks slyly "Pfft, you think I care about the fate of this stupid kingdom? Nah, this valley is only our mere hunting grounds, and if it falls, we will move on to the next before it is gone. Now as you said, beat it!" as the four of you are making your way out the library, Jahren accidentally knocks another book off the shelf. Peculiarly, it falls into his sack.
While you are about to leave, the Ruby Snowflake sends of a blast of light, causing all of you (including Anthony) to appear in an empty space with a dome of red triangles surrounding you. A whispery voice rings through the dome "That's two, you have my thanks" it says, then you find yourselves in Central City once again, the mayor at your side "That's the second piece, now only five remain. Quick give it to me!"
Halec hands the shard over without much reaction. "This is how things work, Jharen." I've stopped trying to make sense of them. Last time we recovered a shard we were spirited back here, as well. This is the mayor of Central City. Mr. Mayor, this is Jharen, our new ally."

Also, the space only last's for a hour, so we can only take a short rest.
Are we aware of Anthony's encounter with slough?
