((This is going to be a series of short adventures in and around Talaveroth, by various DMs, while we wait for the Arch DM Grotex to return to the faithful!)
Part 1: Aboard the Richard Mobius
It’s a beautiful day at sea! The sky is clear, the ocean waves roll gently, and the sailors are singing up in the rigging. It’s almost enough to make everyone forget how seasick you've all been for the last week. The sailors don’t seem to have forgotten the horrible clean-up job, however. They look at you with unfriendly eyes as you stagger up onto the main deck from below.
An unexpected gale drove your ship far off course on the first day at sea, and the Captain ordered you to keep out of the way of the working sailors during the storm, so you have mostly been below in your cabins. Now that the sailing is smooth, you can all emerge into the sunshine and fresh air again. You were sailing north along the coastline from the Southern Coast, the 'Gnomish Riviera,' toward the mighty city of Dasterus, but you have been at the mercy of the storm for days, and no land is in sight.
On the main deck with you on the port side, a group of eight dwarves celebrate their release from the bowels of the ship. They have kegs of ale and tankards, and are shouting and drinking toasts to the sea gods, the weather, the sun, King Thornæd, Moradin, and everything else they can think of. Their two small runny-nosed children run back and forth across the deck, squealing and giggling with glee at their new freedom. On the starboard side are three lifeboats. Forward, just before the rise of the foredeck, you see a sour-faced wood elf tending a large number of potted plants. On the foredeck, you see a half-elf woman with a red coat leaning against the main ballista and juggling a dagger, and a human male with long red hair dressed in expensive looking clothes in Elvish style and strumming a lute. They both wear the light blue sashes that identify them as ships' officers.
Aft, on the raised poop deck, Captain Haba, who sold you your passage (those who paid) peers through a sextant. The ship's navigator mans the wheel beside him.

As soon as Si'Juul can feel the wind in his feathers he will approach the railing on the port side and give his wings a long stretch. He crosses his arms over his chest, bare except for the straps over his shoulders, holding small pouches as well as the holster for his pepperbox. Eyes closed, he takes a large breath of fresh air.

Si'Juul opens his eye slightly, looking over the elven man suddenly next to him, taking note of his sword, then closing his eye again, uttering only a simple, "......Agreed...."
Opening his eyes once more. Staring off into the horizon, letting it take his mind away for a few moments. Then, remembering the chatty elven man asked him a question, he just says, ".... Traveling .."
Out from below come a pretty young human woman. She can’t be older then her late teens or early twenties. Non of you recognize her and neither does the captain.
She carefully make her self known and with a frightened, confused demeanor she ask “Uhm, excuse me... w-where is this ship headed?” around her neck and down her chest hang a simple but beautiful and obviously holy symbol.
“I was being chased down the dockside. I hid on this vessel to escape and the next thing I knew we were in this terrible storm.”
Twitch had gotten on the ship by offering to pay for the voyage in trade. The storm had kept her busy, between patching the ship and jury-rigging other repairs, she was glad to catch a few rays and take a breath between the work. After all, if she'd wanted the sailor's life, she'd have stayed on with the Intrepid. For a moment, her mind wandered, wondering whether they'd really set out for the Frozen North as the captain had planned… before one of the squeling dwarven kids runs into her and brings her crashing back down to reality.
As the startled dwarven kid looks at Twitch, Ready to cry for fear of the beating he's about to receive, Twitch quickly holds out her hand, and with a warm smile says: "Hey there little one. I'm Thamara, but most people just call me Twitch. You sure make an entrance…" A Little dumbfounded, she sends the kid back towards his parents, before taking a look around the deck. The dwarves she had met, some had even helped plug a few leaks- putting that experience as coopers to good use. The officers knew her, since she regularly helped out with the ship's Bosun, but she didn't particularly feel like talking to them, particularly since they seemed to mostly think that they were something better simply for wearing nicer clothes and eating better food. Then, scanning the deck further, she saw the aaracokra, and the poor sociable elf who had set it into his mind to strike up a conversation with the birdman. Seeing the social awkwardness develop even from across the ship, she decided to relieve them both and start to talk with the elf, ideally somewhere away from the meditative aaracokra.
Approaching the elf, she quickly tapped him on the elbow: "Sorry, but I Need some help over here." Once the elf joins, she'll add: "I'm sorry, but it looked like the birdman wanted to enjoy the air by himself for a bit longer. Don't take it personally, they're known to be solitary. I'm sure he'll come and talk to us once he's Ready. Anyway, my name's Twitch, and how about you?"
