'So far so good.......sharks seem uninterested........ better not find anything on that ship..........'
Out loud he calls to the mobius,
"We should be good, at least long enough to get these ropes in place! Sharks seem focused on eating their friend I shot! Keep sharp just in case, though! Crows nest, any other ships you can see?!"
The lookout suddenly remembers to look at the surrounding ocean and calls out that everything is clear, nobody else around.
Twitch doesn't have to roll, yet. Even underwater, her expertise as a ship's carpenter should ensure she knows what are the strongest places to tie to, and the best knots to use.
Once you get to pulling, though, you can roll a Dex check for each of the six ropes, to see how well your knots hold under pressure.

Only one rope comes loose as the sailors heave and the capstans turn. With a groaning of timbers, the Green Dolphin comes upright! It's a sad sight, listing to one side, hull scarred, masts broken and sails trailing in the water from a tangle of ropes, but all the sailors cheer to see the ship afloat once more! Captain Pennywhistle is almost in tears. "Thank all the gods," he says, as sailors start to swing over to the Dolphin on the ropes, and the boats are lowered again. "It looks bad, but I'm sure it can be repaired on the island. Would you like to join me and see...what condition things are in?" He winks.

The captain gets aboard the lifeboat, and with the party and crew members, heads over to the Dolphin. Si'Juul sees the sailors who came over already on the ropes beginning to cut away the rigging and ruined sails.
When the captain comes aboard, the first thing he does is go down into the cargo hold. The place is knee-deep in water, and the lead ingots are in a tumbled heap on one side of the ship. He sets crew members to pumping out the bilgewater and restacking the cargo so that the ship will even out. He has other crew start transporting some of the cargo and stores to the Mobius.
When all the orders have been given, Captain Pennywhistle picks up a couple of heavy lead ingots and leads you to his cabin. It is not in too much chaos, since most of the heavy furniture is fixed to the floor. He raises the hinged bed to reveal a hatch beneath it and opens it. There are some cases and bundles and other unusual looking objects inside, fortunately dry.
"These are not part of the regular cargo, but a shipment to a special friend in Dasterus," says the captain. "Very secret, please don't mention it to anyone. She will be as grateful as I that you helped save her merchandise. I had a quiet chat with the Mobius's mate, and she told me enough about you that I think I can find something that each of you would like. Master Si'Juul, I'm afraid that we don't carry ammunition of the sort you require, but between the lead and, say 6 pounds of black powder, which we do have, I expect you can make your own?" He gives you the two lead ingots he is carrying, and takes a cloth sack from one of the cases. (Enough to make 400 bullets...you can make 20 per long rest with your tinkers' tools, I believe.)
He holds up a small, jeweled badge and hands it to Paren. "This token was taken from a Dragon cultist in a battle in the Lowlands. It is ideal for one in your, er, occupation: an Insignia of Claws I hope it will be of use to you. You might want to keep it concealed, if you don't want to be mistaken for one of the Dragon cult."
Opening a small jewel box, he removes a gold chain with a small but perfect pearl dangling from it. He hands it to Elhanna with a smile. " I think this Pearl of Power may be of great use to a healer just beginning on her holy journey."
He smiles at Twitch. "You have been extremely useful in the saving of my ship and crew. I believe this is an item that any sip's crew member would be grateful to own: a genuine Ring of Water Walking! It won't stop the sharks from biting your feet off, but at least you don't have to associate with them in their own element."
"I hope that you find these gifts a satisfactory reward for your assistance," says Captain Pennywhistle. "If not, please let me know, and I will rummage around and see if I have anything you would like better."

"Yes, I will be taking that black powder, and the ingots will come in handy.....you are certain you have no other items related to firearms.....even among your crew?"
Affixing the sack of powder to his straps and pocketing the ingots, Si'Juul glances very unsubtly peeks at the cargo stash.

Paren nods. "The other monks may not approve but I think this will come in handy at some point. Thank you Captain, I shall endeavour to use it well." He then attempts to make the Insignia disappear up his sleeve.

Okay. It doesn't seem likely. Firearms are rare and expensive, and with no cannons aboard (the Dolphin is smaller, lighter and less well-armed than the Mobius) it's kind of a surprise that they even had black powder. It was among the 'special cargo' items, not the ship's stores. The captain's personal belongings are scattered around the cabin a bit, and you see no sign of a firearm among them, or in the secret hatch. Or anything else surprising. The hatch holds jewelry, small art objects, and a few mundane-looking items that might also be magical.

"I realize there is little you are likely allowed to say, but can you tell me anything about this friend from Dasterus? Can't blame me for the curiosity......"
"Oh thank you captain, it is beutiful!" She donn the necklace beside the symbol of Mishakel. "You called this a 'Pearl of Power'" she looks at him with suspision "It doesn't happen to be a magical necklace by any chanse?"
She looks in to the ocean blue pearl that goes hand in hand with her own and wonder if Misakel had anything to do with this. I have to ask her about it later. And give her a proper thanks if she did.
"Have you heard of Melinda Mayhem?" Captain Pennywhistle asks Si'Juul. "She runs a chain of magic stores. Mostly joke and novelty items, potions and scrolls, but she likes to always have a few quality objects on hand for discriminating customers. Melinda made her fortune as the inventor of the donkey cushion...anyone sitting on it appears to have a donkey's head. It sold so well in the Free City that she was able to open shops all over Talaveroth, and now spends her time puttering with new toys and pranks. She gave me these, as a gift." The captain pulls a pair of spectacles from his pocket and hands them to you. As soon as you put them on, everyone around you appears to have the face of a fish. The grinning halfling's face reappears as soon as you take them off. "It makes boring days much more entertaining." He offers the glasses around to anyone who wants to try them on.
To Elhanna he says, "Yes, i believe it allows you to cast an extra spell per day, if you speak the command word. It should be marked on the thing somewhere." Elhanna notices the word 'Bazinga!' inscribed on a little metal tag near the clasp of the necklace.

Elhanna gasp “Captain Pennywhiste! Is it really okey to give us these gifts? Then she looks up at the others and smile honestly, bend over and give Penniwhisle a kiss on the cheek. “Thank you so much!” Then she blush.
The captain turns a little pink. "Yes, it will be quite all right. Melinda loves a good story, and will consider it well worth the price, and she can spare a few trinkets, especially considering that the whole stash might have been lost without your help."
Captain Pennywhistle thanks you again, and you return to the Mobius, soon under sail and towing the Green Dolphin. The sailors seem less surly than usual. Perhaps partly because they are proud to have been part of a rescue, partly because they have no more fears of having to go short on food or water, and partly because the kettle of stew has been thrown overboard. Dottle has to start a new kettle from scratch, and while she was inclined to glare at Twitch for a while, that softened after she saw the handsome halfling captain, and completely ended when she saw the stores that were brought aboard. "MUCH better quality than I usually have to deal with," she says. "Ogg, Thogg, take them down to the hold. I'm going to bake cakes tonight. Both for us, and for the Green Dolphin."
