Welcome to Wildemount, a continent in Exandria to the northeast of Tal'Dorei (see here if you are not familiar). In this campaign Exandria is being DMed as a land of high fantasy with skyships, flying carpets and epic artifacts (more similar to season 1 of Critical Role than season 2 so far and I may introduce items from Tal'Dorei campaign setting into Wildmount that make sense).
I will be starting the campaign with Tide of Retribution, though plan to continue past level three in Wildemount and at some stage to allow the characters to move on to Tal'Dorei if they wish using the Green Ronin campaign book. That will make the title somewhat defunct, but will open up more options for the characters and may mean that there are some CR character cameos.
I plan on rewarding good RPing as well as positive or altruistic deeds with inspiration points and/or in game rewards (magic items etc.) and a character's actions will influence relationships with NPCs that could open up or block opportunities, even if that means that I don't follow any adventure "as written".
I'll post about character creation below, though will post some DM requirements first: I'm looking for players that can undertake to post at least once every three days for the Tide of Retribution Arc (except for when there are extenuating circumstances or if they notify the group in advance) and who don't mind that if they do not post daily that the story might potentially move on without them (this is for the entire campaign, and the pace will be set by the most frequently posting players not least frequently posting players); players should be respectful and 'play nice' with other players and their characters (and with me), and no hate speech is allowed either in character or out of character. In return I'll try to make the campaign as fun as possible.
We’ll be using the Heroic Chronicle to help you create your backstory, which gives you bonuses, afflictions, allies, rivals, family members (who can be allies or rivals) and even magic items. I’ll go through this with you, but as a sneak peak, it is here. If you haven’t used it, it actually makes character creation even more fun IMO.
You can choose a race. That said, If you are happy for your race to be randomly rolled via the Heroic Chronicle instead, I’ll let you roll an extra time on the Fateful Moments table, which could be good or bad.
If choosing race: Any official race, class and background from the books (except Eberron) are allowed without restriction... as long as you can explain why they would be not run out of a regular town with pitchforks and why they would be found in an adventuring party rather than attacking an adventuring party (I’m looking at you usually-evil-beast races). The options include those in the Green Ronin Tal'Dorei Campaign Setting (Blood Domain Cleric, Juggernaut Barbarian, Runechild etc.). Backgrounds can also be home-brewed if they make sense using the standard rules, though I suggest that backgrounds are created after rolling on the Heroic Chronicle tables.
Warforged, Kalashtar, Changelings and Shifters are also allowed (no more than one of each in the party, so if you want to play one it is 'first in, best dressed'). That said, you will need to make them fit with the backstory created through Heroic Chronicle and choosing one of these may cause DM intrusions. Also if I think they make your character choice too powerful I’ll ask you to change to a more common race. No UA (Unearthed Arcana) races or classes unless you make a very compelling case for them.
Artificers (Eberron) are allowed, as are Gunslingers.
The above means you can create a Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle, a Samurai Pizza Cat, a Transformer (Warforged Druid who has a vehicle proficiency), or even a Cow With Guns (Firebolg Gunslinger) etc. without having to ask, though keep in mind this is not going to be a "wacky" D&D game and acting like a cartoon will likely lead to death. This is not a threat, I’m just explaining why jumping into a sewer and yelling "cowabunga" might not be the best idea in a world in which Gelatinous Cubes exist and hang out in such places.
No evil characters. If you are an evil person, you will just have to RP a neutral or good character.
Feats are allowed, including those from the Green Ronin Tal'Dorei Campaign Setting (yes, even Spelldriver which allows casting two spells in a turn), as long as they don't conflict with the "no evil character" rule
You will be able to roll ability scores and you have three choices either A) re-roll ones "always", OR B) re-roll ones "once" and if you don’t like the scores you can use the standard array OR C) use point buy. Choose whether you want to use A), B) or C) before posting, as you are stuck with the first option you choose.
Post your ability score rolls here and then your general character idea then I'll then get your backstory and other details via PM:

I'd like to try to join. I just created a character using the Heroic Chronicle (Forgotten Realms Version), except for race, and it was fun trying to make a backstory from all the pieces.
I'll choose Option B and see what I can come up with.
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Would you prefer that we roll for all of the heroic chronicle or can we chose somethings like family relationships that really impact your character's personality? Also do you want us to roll on dndbeyond in our pms to for what we get?
I am looking at running a lizardfolk whose reason for leaving their swamp will be at least somewhat decided by the chronicle if that is okay with you. Another idea if you are open to the Lurker in the Deep UA warlock pact, it is a very sea focused subclass based on a kraken patron that is oozing with flavor. If you don't like it, no problem. I am just excited to have a chance to play in Wildemount as I am dming 2 campaigns in it and love the setting (Used the Empire and Xhorhas starting encounters before homebrewing).
I'll use stat roll A cause if we are rolling for much of the heroic chronicle we are rolling a lot of dice, may as well roll a few more Ability scores: 141016151313
Hi, I'd like to join! I have an idea for a Character that starts as a Warlock and multiclasses into Sorcerer (draconic bloodline), RP driven, but it might change based on the rolls on the Heroic Chronicle. I've used the Forgotten Realms version of it for another character.

Reguh showed promise in spell casting at a young age. This got him into trouble due to his playful nature and his parents and community were ready to send him off to study elsewhere as soon as they could. He quickly grew bored of a strict structured environment and took off on his own to seek adventure! He wants to continue his, studies when he can, but adventure and see the world also! (Willing to change up the background and expand it after I have a better understanding of the campaign)

Vincent Flintmore - Human - Death Cleric
Alignment : chaotic good
Vincent is a secret follower of Nephthys, goddess of death, mourning, a protector and empowerer of mortal souls gone to afterlife. He hunts murderers down, as they trespass in his lady’s domain. This is done with swift and sure brutality. It can strike others as odd though, when he gets squeamish about jaywalking and similar minor offenses. Although that changes when his target is in his sights.
Ive not actually put the heroic chronicle into use before. Should I just roll it now and keep it going? Kinda wish the character creator had it included.
Would you prefer that we roll [...]? Also do you want us to roll on dndbeyond in our pms to for what we get?

I'm definitely OK with people also choosing things from the Heroic Chronicle for their backstories (as long as they are not those that grant powers or items - though I may suggest one of those instead of a roll if it fits or makes the story more interesting).
We already have two warlocks and I'm not allowing UA material, but given how epic your stat rolls are, I'm definitely happy for you to send another character concept. Let me know in a PM or in a post here:

Yes, no problem :) I don't see a frontliner and I've been wanting to try a melee ranger, do you think that's a good fit?
Yes, definitely, especially if you can make your character connected to Palma Flora (a coastal town). A Triton or Sea Elf ranger would definitely fit and would fill a gap in the party.
