Tide of Retribution (Campaign Thread)

Darla immediately draws her rapier, calling out to Stanley, "Now's th' time! Show th' bawbags what yer worth!"(bardic inspiration to Stanley), then darts in, lunging for the Sahuagin that attempted to attack her(#5).

Attack: 18 Damage: 5

Alright, so next up is going to be all of the crew actions. I'll only bother typing these out if/when they directly affect one of you. 

In this case, Boerth is going to attack the Sahuagin that is directly in front of Nalos with his [Tooltip Not Found]:

• Attack: 4 Damage: 5 

Nalos just sees a crossbow bolt come from behind him and fly right past the sahuagin right in front of him. 

Usul is up!

Usul hides himself very effectively behind those barrels before shooting his crossbow. The bolt strikes the sharkbody abomination and is now protruding from the creature's dorsal fin. It is still focused more on Kijori. 

Next is Nalos.

Nalos, remembering all too well how quickly the tide of battled turned on him last time, casts Mage Armor as his action (making his AC15), and he uses his bonus action to cast Grasp of the Deep. 

A magical iridescent glow envelops Nalos's body while he points his hands at Sahuagin 3 and releases the tentacles of the deep on him. Out of the deck of the ship, tentacles emerge as if through water and lash out at the creature: Attack: 25 Damage: 14 lightning damage. He is very clearly hurt, his body arching in electrified pain (and his speed is now reduced by 10 until Nalos's next turn).

Next up is Snurk!

Snurk is going to take a bonus action to rub the tip of his spear over his forearm and then attack sharkbody abomination 1 with his spear:

• Attack: 19 Damage: 5 
• sharkbody abomination 1 DC12 CON save: 7 = he does not take any poison damage.

Sharkbody Abominations are up.

Sharkbody Abomination 1 attacks Kijori. 

Sharkbody Abomination 2 is nowhere to be seen right now

Stanley is up!

Updated Map - Round 1, Turn 9 - Beginning of Stanley's Turn

The nearest enemy to Stanley is Sahuagin 6.

Stanley steps forward, grabs his Quarterstaff with both hands and brings it down as hard as he can on Sahuagin 6, aiming for its head.

Attack: 7 Damage: 5 

Stanley makes contact hitting the sahuagin dead on. He takes full damage.

I'll take the Sahuagins' turns in a bit. I'm watching a movie with my family. 😬

Sahuagin 1 and 2 attack crewmembers on the back of the ship.

Sahuagin 3 attacks Nolas with a double attack:

• Attack: 6 Damage: 2 - piercing damage (bite)
• Attack: 5 Damage: 5 - slashing damage (claws) 
• Nolas takes 4 damage, but he uses his reaction to point his finger at Sahuagin 3 as it is engulfed in hellish flames:
  • Sahuagin 3 DEX save (DC13): 8 --> he takes 11 fire damage and as a result, he burns to death and drops where he's at on the spot.

Sahuagin 4 attacks Heidi Axebeard

Sahuagin 5 attacks Darla with the same multi-attack that #3 attacked Nolas with:

• Attack: 23 Damage: 4 - piercing damage (bite)
• Attack: 17 Damage: 4 - slashing damage (claws) 
• Darla takes 3 piercing damage

Sahuagin 6 attacks Stanley with a multiattack:

• Attack: 6 Damage: 4 - piercing damage (bite)
• Attack: 16 Damage: 5 - slashing damage (claws) 
• Stanley takes 8 damage, total

Darla is up next!

Updated Map - Round 2, Turn 1 - Beginning of Darla's Turn

The only update to this map is that Sahuagin 3 is dead. 

Darla hums a high, clear note into the air, focusing healing magic through her voice and casts healing word on Stanley, returning 3 health to him, then turns back to her opponent, slashing at the Sahuagin once more with her rapier Attack: 11 Damage: Unable to parse dice roll.

Stanley feels refreshed, but Darla's rapier misses. 

It's now the crew's turns: Boerth backs up 5' to crouch next to the barrels right next to him and shoots his crossbow at Sharkbody 1: Attack: 23

((I'm in a spot with bad cell signal...))

Damage: 15

Boerth does 6 piercing damage. The other crew are all engaged with their enemies.

It is Usul's turn.

Attempting to quiet himself again Usul then shoots off towards Sharkbody 1 again, seeing it engaged with the crew and his friend.

Usul is not successful at hiding, but he does get 10 points of damaged on the distracted abomination.

Nalos is next. I'll get his action up in a bit.

Nalos is going to use his bonus action to move his Grasp of the Deep tentacles over to Sahuagin 4 and attack:

• Attack: 18 Damage: 9 Lightning Damage
• That attack misses

Then, he is going to cast Eldritch Blast at Sharkbody Abomination 1:

• Attack: 13 Damage: 10 Force Damage
• This attack hits, and the creature is clearly hurt. He's bleeding from his shoulder, dorsal fin, and now after getting hit in the chest with an eldritch blast, he's bleeding out of his mouth. He's well under half-way dead.
