"The Nalfis! they are a group led by Nalfis himself, he's an old elf whom protects the weaker side of fauna from the dangerous ones, I hear he's been planeswalking for that duty, some even say his spire exists in both this plane and the feywild" Eliodos shares with the group.
He then tries to notice weather there is any tear in the realms or if his spire is visible (Perception 29 ) and if so notice what realm it may be conected to (Investigation 17 )
He also tries undertanding if the standing corpse is the leader or one member of the elven group (if it is indeed a group).
The Tabaxi lets out a low growl as he watches Jayce and Darkfire approaching the robed figure. While he does not himself bother with the history of matters such as these, his good friend Eliodos always seemed to have some relevant knowledge tucked away. He appreciated this, as it had gotten them out of some tough spots in the past. He says to Eliodos as he flicks his tail in the direction of the scene ahead.
"Dust in the Wind believes that this elf's days of protecting the weak have come to an end"he whispers to Eliodos, his flicking his tail towards the scene ahead.
Cailan drives the pegasus forward as the others approach the dead elf, walking the beast round the circumference of the splintered trees, looking for any clues amongst the ruins themselves for what transpired. He turns his masked and robed head back to the centre, his voice taking on a more serious tone. "You are sure this is our elf? And that he is truly dead?
(I should have been clearer, the figure is laying down on their side)
Jayce examines the corpse, he suspects some sort of uneven aging to the individual, but can not determine a definite cause. The items come easily of of the figure's hand. The pendant is a disc of mirror-like obsidian set into silver; on the back the draconic word for 'chain' is inscribed.
The parchment is a letter written in smeared and sloppy elvish: Adven_____ The spire is unstable, _________ __ pulling it across the plane__ __ease help. This pendant will bring you to __ _____ if you hol_ __ up to a _____ctive surface. My people ___ being ___________ ____ ravens. You cannot trus_ ___ _____n. Nalfis
"It seems like he was in trouble. The letter is addressed to Adven.. Is that a name, or the word adventurers just cut off by the smearing? We may need to put our heads together to decipher this letter, cause it seems this pendant maybe be a key of sorts."
" The spire is his home, and it looks to be in trouble...Something about holding this pendant up to a 'reflective' or 'active' or 'somethingtive' surface and we may be teleported somewhere. Something about ravens...and then something about someone that can't be trusted."
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Eliodos tries reading it "May I touch it?" (Comprehend languages) then trying to complete it:
Adventurer The spire is unstable, darkness is pulling it across the planes please help. This pendant will bring you to __ _____ if you hold it up to a Reflective surface. My people are being kidnapped those ravens. You cannot trust any Raven. Nalfis
To see if it is wrong but he has any epiphany or even if his fill in the gaps are correct I'm guessing INT check 9
"The situation seems dire! I wonder what's causing this"
Jayce passes the letter to the other as he looks at the pendant thinking.
"The pendant will bring you to my spire? Eliodos, why don't you do the thing where you speak with dead people? We can get our answers directly from him." he suggests
The Tabaxi knows Jayce's idea is sound, but the way Eliodos converses with the dead always makes Dust in The Wind nervous. What happens to a man's mind when he crosses the boundaries of the living so easily, he often wonders. Nevertheless, he trusts his companions in both their words and deeds. He watches with cautious curiosity as the scene in front of him unfolds.
"As long as you are only conversing..." The light beneath Cailan's mask dims slightly, as if he was narrowing his eyes, as he approaches the group around the corpse. In truth, the aasimar had watched this ritual being performed many timers before, but always felt it necessary to warn of the dangers of blurring the boundaries between life and death.
Eliodos says picking some inscense "If you're ok with this"
"As you know I can ask only a few questions to one out of this world, I believe we should ask what's on that letter and what are those ravens, anyone has idea of what else to ask?" He says to the group, and after a bit of thought "and be ready, we don't know what took the spire, but it won't like us communicating with those whom were here protecting, have my back"
As you pass around the letter, trying to decipher it, most of the ravens have now flown away. Despite your best efforts and educated guesses, you cannot be certain what the smears were intended to be. The satyr approaches the leather-faced corpse and it's mouth creaks and groans open awaiting questions.
"Ask for the fulls words to the letter first - it will answer many of our questions I expect, and will than lead us to latter questions. If that is possible of course."

Continuing on he starts the ritual, placing all.the sticks around the corpse and in a mix between dancing, singing and spellcasting he goes.
"In my plane Erebos would have thy, but your soul may still be slightly free, back in your body thou shall come, and answer me thous" (this is said in sylvan as is his known recited words to bring back the souls of the dead)
He then proceeds to speak in common (also I believe comprehend languages is still active):
1."What was in this letter?" (He explains to be an alie whom was going to meet the Natalie if the corpse seems suspicious and to be an alie, else he takes being an enemy if it seems it was an enemy, 9 +10 deception or +15 persuasion)
2."The spire seems to have been taken, do you know where or by whom?"
while the corpse answers he tries to understand how truthful the answers are 24 (insight)
The Tabaxi's fur bristles at the sound of the dead elf's voice. He instinctively lets out a low growl as he shifts his weight back and forth from one foot to the other. His tail twitches nervously as he anxiously waits for this corpse to be silent once again.
"Nalfis said the place was a dark echo of our world, some kind of shadow land."
"I don't know. It seemed as though we weren't moving at all, nothing pushing or pulling. Everything outside suddenly began to change and then we all began to change."

The corpse waits motionless until a question is asked and then speaks in a strained, gravelly voice.
"The letter is meant for you, Nalfis penned it and sent me to intercept you. I did not read it sir, I am a professional."
"The spire was in two places, now it's only in one. A different place. A dark place."
So far this presumed messenger seems honest and straightforward.
"Thank you"
3. "A dark place, do you know the name of this place?"
4. "Who took the spire?"
I guess insight again 19

"Nalfis said the place was a dark echo of our world, some kind of shadow land."
"I don't know. It seemed as though we weren't moving at all, nothing pushing or pulling. Everything outside suddenly began to change and then we all began to change."
Still trustworthy.
5. "What has killed you and do you have an idea of how to avoid it?"
Insight 25
When it finishes "Thank you, and may your soul have a good trip in the strix"
Knowing he'll have no further answers from the corpse he turns to the group
"So, what do you think of this? Also does anyone have parchment and ink to copy what's left on that parchment or, as usual, we forgot it?"
"Killed? What do you mean? I was running and a darkness engulfed me, but not like it did the others. There was pain ..."
The elf body again falls inanimate.
