Jayce shrugs at the mention of parchment like it's almost a foreign word. He scans the surroundings, taking note of any ravens in the area and any dark areas.

Shuddering at the sight of Elodios touching the strangely decayed elf man, the Tabaxi turns to Jayce and nods in agreement.
"If there is water nearby, Dust in the Wind will find it."
The Tabaxi, happy to spend his time hunting in the wilderness rather than talking with a corpse, disappears into the forest in search of a nearby pond or river.

Cailan watches Dusty as he excuses himself from the mild necromancy taking place. As the life fades from the elf once again, he dismounts the pegasus and casts his eyes around the area once more, looking for something. "This elf died in service of another, and of us, indirectly. The least we can do is afford him a burial of some sort, to ease his soul's passing."

Looking for rocks, or similar to build a cairn, maybe even just use all the broken wood. Unless someone has a shovel or two?
Dust in the Wind is relieved to see the business with the dead elf coming to a close as he returns to the clearing. He watches Darkfire flying above with mild curiosity.
"The water is not far. Dust in the Wind will show you, if this is our plan", he suggests to his companions.
Curiosity had gained a hold on the Tabaxi , and he was eager to learn the secrets of the strange amulet Jayce had found on the elf's body.
The woods near the stream is littered with stones of different sizes. Building a small cairn would only take a few minutes with some of the group working together.
While Eliodos is digging into the earth, he spots several acorns on the ground around him. Some of which are beginning to germinate.
(Whichever way you'd like to perform the burial, could be done quickly and without any obstacles. The ground is soft, there are plenty of stones, and the timber in the area is dry enough to burn easily.)
Cailan balls one hand into a fist, covers it with the other in front of his chest as he bows to the grave. "May your rest now be undisturbed friend..." He nods to the others to proceed, and enters the mind of his steed, asking it to follow.
The group travels to the stream Dust in the Wind found. Wildlife seems to have returned to the area and the pleasant sounds of the woodland fill the air as if nothing had happened. The stream is not more than a few feet wide at the bottom of a small gully with a gentile slope.
Dust in the Wind watches from a safe distance, curious as to what effect the water's reflection might have on the pendant in Jayce's hand.
He had been thinking it over in his mind as he led his friends to the river. They were about to get themselves into something strange, perhaps even otherworldly. The Tabaxi braces himself, preparing for the sort of trouble that always seems to find him and his companions, wherever they may go.
As the pendant catches its reflection in the water, a large silver chain launches from the reflection. Seemingly possessed by a will of its own, it wraps around Jayce's arm. Eliodos's rapier warns him danger is coming in time for him to warn his party. The sky begins to shift from a bright sunny day to a cloudless starry night, it is dark. The trees and plants wither before your eyes leaving dry husks of what they once were. The stream dries to an empty bed with the silver chain fastened to the ground. In the distance, you can see a great spire towering above the dead treeline.
Undead warriors and black ethereal figures now surround you on all sides, each about 50 feet away from the closest party member.

Jayce notices a few ravens nearby, but nothing here seems darker than the slight shade afforded by the forest canopy.
The elf's corpse doesn't seem to have anything else on them aside from their clothing.
Eliodos mends the tattered letter, the frayed edges form back together but the ink remains smeared.
Dust in the Wind easily finds small stream about a minute away in a shallow gully.

Looking at the still hard to read parchment Eliodos seems frustrated.
