Kain stood aside as the others who reached the smiling, dancing women first spoke with her. She then glided a way but Kain picked up the information he needed. These strange folks were here for the same reason he was. Not wanting to be rude, he watched them as they went about the festival. As some slowly made their way off into the night, he was about to follow them, when he noticed the one name "Silver" seemed to lose her senses and began to dance through the night...
Kain found a post and watched over her silently until she came to her senses in the morning. She seemed no worse for wear and he was unsure if that was because he had been watching or she was lucky. She then started off as if she knew where she was going, and he followed. A moment she ducked into a tavern, Kain was to do do the same before running chest first into a woman moving with speed out the door. "My apologies dear lady." He said as he helped her stand up. "Forgive me. I believe I am to meet members of my party here?"
“ Well it seems we are all in the same boat so I’ll introduce myself. My name is Kricam Coarsen and I’m not much of a mercenary.” Kricam interjects whilst the two men play a game he barely remembers from his childhood. It brings him joy to see it being played once again.
Moreover, Nephis wasn’t the only one who was able to keep up with Eili and Jaden conversation. Kricam hasn’t heard the language many times and he is used to the more fey accent so struggles to keep up with them.
"Fair enough," says Jared with a laugh before frowning. "But what you say intrigues me. You say you came in response to a call for help. I came because I ply my sword as my trade."
He then indicates Eili and adds, "Whereas our elvish friend here has no real idea why she was contacted and has presumably come more out of curiosity than anything else."
Jared is quiet for a moment before saying, "It seems to me a very odd way to put together a rescue team..."
He then suddenly gets to his feet and goes in search of the proprietor of Soales Beds.
As he passes the tabaxi, he presses the shiny stone she threw to him into her paws and says, "That is quite a valuable stone. You should keep it."
Then, having found their landlady, he asks, "Madame Soale, a question if you please. The familiarity of yourself and Ms Lola with this situation suggests to me that we are not the first group who has come this way for this cause, is that true?"

Sorry Skye. I missed the import of this post entirely. Jaden would not have ignored Kricam introducing himself, but would have looked a little wary in the presence of an Aarakocra as he has never met one before. He would also have invited Kricam to join their table and involved him in the conversation.

(Let me try and fix this so there's no confusion: Ignore my post on Symon arriving by ship, he would've stayed at the tavern as well and is currently eating breakfast)
Lola chirps at Kain. "Hey! I think I say you last night...you're number seven! C'mon, we gotta meet your friends! Group...uh...let's go!" She grabs Kain's hand and drags him into the shop.
"Okay. Now that you're all together, here's what were gonna do: we're gonna take a little field trip to the edge of town. Gonna drop you guys off at a caravan, the driver's really nice, kinda old, smells funny, but nice. The trips gonna be about a week, maybe longer if the weather is bad, then you're gonna be dropped off at Shuvin. I don't know if there'll be a guide, maybe, maybe not. If not you'll head north-west through the mountains, be careful, there's goats. Then you'll get to the border of Sunswall, there should be a guard post. Ask for a Mr. Tailman and they should send you on your way! Any questions?"
Things went from slow to too fast for Kain. One minute he is at the door and the next he was being talked to like they were old friends. In that moment, he decided that raising a lot of questions would not do, instead he listened and looked over the others. There was a lot he still needed to learn about this region of the world. He nodded in turn to the others and figured there would be plenty of time to get to know them on the trip.

[OOC: DM, I would like to find out the result of this enquiry. The following is an Insight check on the answer Jaden gets from the Soales woman: 7 ]
[OOC: LOL. Well she can just about say anything and he wouldn't know if she is telling the truth or not. Still, hearing what she says might be useful/interesting.]
Soale sighs, pulling up a chair. "This specific circumstance, no. Theres thousands of miles of untouched land in Amzu, well, recorded, anyways. Plenty of adventurers come through here in search of 'untold riches' or 'mystical beasts'" She says with a dismissive tone. "I'm not into that kind of stuff. She is." Soale points at Lola, who's still smiling bubbly.
Jaden feels like this woman is being honest, morso she's had this conversation before.
Nephis nods to Kricam with a "nice to meet you as well." He brings him into the conversation, and the three make small talk as the dragonchess game gets played.
When Lola returns and summarizes the trip, he shakes his head. "No questions here." He moves to stand by the door, ready to head out for the caravan with the rest of the group.
A slender man in green and grey clothing strides down the staircase and approaches the small group seated around the table. Bearing himself in what he thinks is a regal manner, but which would most likely appears to others as if he were trying to darken a corncob in a rather rude manner, he announces, politely if a bit pontifically, "I am Symon Twist, Wizard, come in answer to a letter from the Mayor Tailman of Sunswall." He hands everyone tasteful embossed card with, Symon Twist, Wizard; Have Spells, Will Travel, printed on it in several different colors of ink. "I have been given to understand that there is a spot of trouble with the 'natives' in the area and he has been hiring various specialists of a mercenary bent to come deal with the situation. And it further seems that y'all are to be my stalwart companions on this venture."
Symon's accoutrements include a well-made backpack; a stout staff, which he handles in a confident manner; a plain yet nicely crafted dagger on his right hip; a well-used case of some sort hanging along his left from a leather baldric; he wears a weathered, broad brimmed hat of greyish-green and, poking out about his person in various places, wardarts.
Symon hitched up his staff, coughed, began to look embarrassed, thought better of it and stiffened slightly. Definitely odd. A average person might start looking around for a few loose turnips about now. Yet for all that he was trying to be personable.
"May I join you?"

Silver was just starting to awaken. She still felt stiff and sore but her head was maybe a little bit more normal, if she didn't use it too much. So normal enough. She finds a shiny, interesting rock in her hand and looks around quickly, wondering if anybody noticed she had it. Nobody seemed to so she quickly stuffed it into a pouch and acted innocent...

"Alrighty, If everybody's good to go, follow me!" Lola cheers, skipping out of the shop and down the road. You all collect yourselves and your belongings and follow after, Soale, waving goodbye to all of you. The sun is not as harsh as it was earlier, both Nephis and Silver notice, and the streets are now properly cleaned as folks go about their daily lives. You all are quick to realize that this town must have been built on sharp rolling hills, due to the number of stairs going up and down. Nephis has to ask to stop at some point, granted his body hasn't fully recovered. After about half an hour more of walking the group comes across a human man. Dark skin, wearing nothing more than a pair of slippers, shorts, and an open button-down shirt. He is sitting on the stairs of a large caravan. You'd guess about 12-ish feet wide, 30 feet long and 10 feet tall. It is made of fine redwood with two windows on either side.
The man jumps to the sound of footsteps, lifts up his shades to see the group, then gets up, holding his hands up to Lola. "Ey, beauty girl! These be da folks I bring a run, ya?"
She nods. "Yep!" Lola turns to the group. "Everyone, this is Guffa. He'll be your guide."
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
"Good morning," says Jaden, stepping forward and offering his hand. "The name's Jaden Fellan and I'm glad to meet you."
Though his greeting is genuine, Jaden is also trying to assess this man by comparing him to other guides/caravan captains that he would have met in the past during his earlier mercenary campaigns.
