Let me know if I've missed something important! Please include the following information about your characters:
Class: Druid (circle of the stars) or Sorcerer (Clockwork Soul) if allowed if not I will draft another character.
Ability scores: Standard Array
Background: Acolyte
Backstory: Unagwynn is a devout follower of Celestian, the good if stars, where in has cost clergy(clerics) seek favor through prayer and study, Una finds his faith in following the stars, trying to map the glory that his God gave the world. He finds himself joining roaming bands and travelers and has enjoyed the company of adventurers, seeking to find a group that can align with the goals of his faith.
he wasn't born this way. the darkness, its an infection you se. slowly rots you from the inside out. no-one knows why it picks those it does. doesn't take a genius to guess. the scum. those people who kill and maim for the rush, then ditch the remains in a sewer. those who have opened up their souls to darkness. when the fey gave him a choice, there was only ever one answer. he chose the slow death of Faerie over the painful agony of the darkness taking control. he had two, maybe three years left to live before the innate poison of the faerie medicine he was taking killed him anyway. he searched for a cure, any cure but to no avail. until he heard about the yawning portal. the tavern that led to the under dark, and the magical fungus that grew there. the fungus that might, just might cleanse his soul. just like before, there was only one real choice...
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Name: Ricardo
Race: Human
Class: Wizard
Ability Scores: Ability scores: 121310161413
Background: Slave
Backstory: Ricardo is the son of a slave. His mother, Isabel, was owned by a respected wizard, Xaltotum. She was responsible for cooking his meals and cleaning his house. A rival of Xaltotum's seduced her, hoping to gain access to the wizard's library. But, Xaltotum figured out what was going on before his rival could access the wizard's library. The rival did however impregnate Isabel with Ricardo. When Xaltotum realized that Ricardo had an aptitude for magic, he began to train the child. Ricardo was raised in Xaltotum's tower on the outskirts of Neverwinter, a place the youngster had never strayed from until recently. As the child of a slave, Ricardo was automatically a slave.
Following an argument between Ricardo and Xaltotum over Isabel's status as a slave (Ricardo wanted her freed), the apprentice wizard ran away to try and raise money to buy his mother's freedom. Knowing that he would be instantly recaptured if he hung around Neverwinter, he fled south to Waterdeep hoping to find opportunities to earn money.
I would love to be apart of this. I have been doing a few pbp on discord, but one just fizzled out, so I'm looking for a new one. I post at least once a day, but am constantly checking the channels and participate more during intense roleplaying and combat.
Name: Arisys Albaratie
Race: Forest Gnome
Class: Cleric (Knowledge, Deity Fharlanghn)
Ability Scores: point buy
Background: Urchin
Backstory:
Arisys grew up poor. Her parents sought odd jobs here and there to support the family, but it was never enough. Arisys often snuck away to steal food, clothing, and household goods to help out. Her parents never asked where they came from, but Arisys thought that they knew. She didn't have much in the way of books, or access to higher education, so occasionally she would steal books from local libraries and bookshops. She always seemed guided towards books about the wider world, natural wonders, and adventures. One night, she was visited by Fharlanghn, who told her the only way to learn more of the world was to get out into the world and see it for herself. It was then she knew that he was guiding her actions, and she promised to be an advocate of his. Arisys collected a stash of goods and coins knowing that one day she would need to leave her home.
At the fall festival, Arisys joined others in the streets to welcome a band of travelling merchants and entertainers. An individual within the party adorned the mark of Fharlanghn. Arisys knew this was the moment for her to escape her circumstance, and venture out on her own. She bid farewell to her parents and joined the travelling band the very next day. For the last couple years, she has travelled from town to town learning of the world recounting her adventures in a small notebook she carries on her person.
(I can connect it more to the campaign if selected)
Race: Human (Variant Human if UA feats are allowed)
Class: Warlock (Fiend)
Ability Scores: Will edit in in a moment
Background: Folk Hero
Backstory: Lar-Dun (Lar for short) lived most of his life quietly in Waterdeep. Up until a few days ago, when he came in contact with the dark powers of the Abyss, he was a normal person. But now, he serves a currently unknown patron's urges and whims, even though he may not want to. He feels different now, like having this magical power has changed him, and he may have even become a vessel for a demonic host.
Backstory: Kain was born on an auspicious day in his father's keep on the edge of the Darkwood forest. For hundreds of generations, or as far back as the keepers of history could tell, his ancestors had kept the forest and lands bringing the light of Corellon Larethian to the elves of the region. Kain was raised in the old traditions with the best tutors, schooling, and squiring until he came of age at 100 was knighted by his father. His father was just and kind, beloved of those he cared for and Kain took these lessons to heart - the prince was not greater than the pauper, and so the people loved him like his father. On that day he swore an Oath of Devotion to the ideals of Corellon Larethian and to bring the light to the dark and sent on his first campaign to not only find those in need, but to find himself and prove himself in the eyes of his family. He was to roam the land without surname for 30 years and bring glory to Corellon Larethian.
His solo crusade led him over hill and vale, swaps and rivers all while righting wrongs and blessings those he came in contact with. After nearly 30 years of a roving do-gooder and making a small name for himself in far away lands where the Darkwood was as unknown as his family, it was nearly time for Kain to return to his home and take his rightful place as heir to his family's keep and lands. He was traveling through farmlands that had recently been decimated by a blight, which had sent many of the local to early graves, but was recovering. In discovering how he could help, he was referred to a elven maiden who had only recently lost her family to the troubling times and had no means to work her land. Kain worked long hours to plow the fields and work the yards in hopes of helping the maiden scratch a living from the dirt with the hope of better days ahead. However, like the fairy stories his tutors used to tell him, as the days increased, so did the feelings of the two, and eventually he found his way out of hay pile and into her bed and soon she was with child. Kain was overjoyed and laid plans to marry the maiden despite initial consternation of how his family would react when he did return to his lands.
The night before the wedding in the village, the maiden laid in his arms and whispered in his ear that she could not go to the alter without first telling him her deepest secret. Kain promised to tell his in return, meaning to tell her of who he truly was and thus officially ending his pilgrimage. Kain waited patiently as she worked up the courage all the while Kain encouraging her with promises of his love no matter the secret. In that moment, the elven form of the maiden melted away to reveal the form of a succubus! As Kain went for his weapon, the demon pleaded with him that her love was as real as his child in her belly and that she was from a coven of succubi that had long since turned from the path of evil, and dwelt on the material plane to live and die like other mortal races. Kain would not hear any of it, the betrayal he felt and his blinding calling forced him to remove the evil in front of him. With a powerful downward chop he brought his massive blade in a killing arc but when the blade touched the maiden instead of blood there was a burst of light....
Kain opened his eyes and stood before Corellon Larethian. "You have failed your final test my son." The deity spoke. "You look upon the outward appearance but I look upon the heart." "You shall not return home as you have much to learn. Go forward and help those that cannot help themselves, and in this you shall find redemption... and perhaps forgiveness in the eyes of one that truly loved you and your child."
Kain opened his eyes, it was the morning of his supposed nuptials. Panicked he looked around. The hut looked like it always had with the exception of the maiden being gone. Indeed, he was unsure if the whole thing was a figment of his imagination. The other locals had no recollection of a maiden living in the hut, indeed they said that Kain had taken up residence in an abandoned hut shortly after the blight had claimed the family living there. He left that community shortly thereafter, vowing to rededicate his life to helping those in need. And yet, he held inside his secret. He did not know if the succubus and the child were real but he promised himself he would never tell a soul.
Notable people: Kelth Darkwood, Kain's father. Large for an elf but with soft eyes and voice. Like his ancestors before him, Kelth pledged his service to Corellon Larethian as a knight and paladin. Kelth is loved in the regions that he holds for his goodness and wisdom.
Kayla Amberleaf, Kain's would be bride, and mother to his child. Possibly a figment of his imagination or failed test given to him by Corellon Larethian. Kayla as an elf was slight of build with alabaster skin and deep purple eyes framed in light, long brown hair. As a succubus, her skin was deep red, almost purple, with large leathery wings but her eyes were the same deep purple.

Backstory: When Nirul, a Genasi, was born into a village of otherwise containing only humans, dwarves, and halflings, she was taken to be the divine incarnation of Istus, and sent to the temple to live there and eventually become her physical avatar on this plane. So she grew up fairly isolated, with little training of the outside world. But as she grew closer and closer to the ceremony that would call forth Istus, and she get more and more in tune with her own self, she began to suspect that whatever force was at work was not Istus. Fearing death or ruin if the ceremony were to be undertaken, she fled the village, and is now trying to find out what might be happening to her, whether that would be by finding a sage or mystic or a way to contact Istus herself. (Echo Knight echo feature would be a manifestation of whatever it was, then she could make a deal with a related or opposing genie (or a deity if the UA not allowed) to find answers/a solution.)
Name: Hana Caikian Race: Half Elf Class: Bard Ability scores: Standard Array (8, 13, 10, 14, 12, 15) Background: Entertainer Backstory: Hana traveled around with her songs, stories and tales of grandeur. Although telling all these amazing stories she never lived them and decided to seek out adventure and make the stories her own. Also because home, to the far east, was not home anymore where she embarrassed a drunken lord one evening and he set out to make her life miserable. Embarrassing tales of her doing, which not happened spread out fast giving Hana the only option of leaving and build up an reputation to prove everyone wrong!

Backstory: Reisha was a young girl who wanted to prove she didn't need anyone, after her parents passing due to illness, when she was going to be sent off to live with distant relatives she did not know.
She fled to the wilds surrounding her village, and met an eccentric old hermit woman who claimed to be a druid and a martial artist. She taught Reisha the way of the "Fist of the Forest," a grueling blend of minor druidic practices with martial arts training. (Variant Human Feat is Magic Initiate: Druid)
She lived off the land for a time, surviving using only her body and no tools whatsoever, to prove that she could be as ferocious and self sufficient as an animal, as part of her training. After the villagers reported sighting a strange "feral naked girl" in the woods for a time, she became something of an urban legend. After completing her training, she was given the formal dress of a female monk, from her mentor, and was told she could teach her no more.
Reisha returned and since then became a folk hero and adventurer, battling injustice wherever she sees it, and protecting the natural world from any threats, as well as the lives of humans and demihumans. She also fancies herself a competent cook and brewer, and works part time in a tavern when not adventuring or training. She plans to open a bar or restaurant of her own someday. Her work uniform is her only other outfit. When any tavern patrons become unruly, she is more than happy to show them that her fists and feet are deadly weapons.

Backstory: Genken has lived in the courts of nobles for years. On a recent diplomatic excursion, he found himself intrigued by a trickster and watched him cast his illusions and enthrall the crowds, all the while pilfering their coin pouches. Once the show was done and the people moved on, Genken approached the trickster and offered him some gold and silence for his crimes in exchange for some training in his roguish act. After all, Genken thought, Some of these talents might be useful getting leverage on some of the more difficult nobles that I cross path with...
Backstory: Like most other pallid elves, Blink's family emerged from the Pallid Grove burning with childlike curiosity about the world. As they explored the world, they wanted to experience many new things. Blink's father discovered gaming houses and became quite addicted. He was in so much debt that the owner of the 3 Crowns threatened to call the city guard which would have meant humiliation and incarceration. He took his wife and child, Blink who was 8 then, with him to try to persuade the owner to give him a chance to work it off. He offered to work in the gaming house until all his debts were paid.
The owner of the gaming house, one Sanchez Fluty sized up the family and thinking for a few minutes about the skills elves were born with said that he would erase all of his debt if Blink's parents would allow him to mentor her within the Harper Faction.
Blink's parents knew of the Harper's and knew they promoted good things and thought it was a fair deal.
Blink was taken into the most secret part of the Harper faction, one that operated in the shadows. Blink was taught how to work in the shadows quietly and efficiently. She learned to pick locks and search for traps and spy and steal from those who were deemed corrupt. She was sworn to secrecy and her parents never discovered she was a rogue trained in the art of stealth and shadows. They were proud of her.
Blink believes that the things she does for the Harper's is just and worthy. She helps prevent those who are power hungry from becoming too corrupt by gathering information about them and stealing from the wealthy to distribute to those who don't have enough.

The unicorn told him that if he rededicated himself to serving and protecting the woodlands, he would be healed. He agreed, and has strived to serve Ehlonna to the best of his ability ever since.
Update: I've received a lot of amazing applications, and it's been difficult, but I've picked out 5 characters so far. There's still one more potential spot, and I'll be leaving applications open until tomorrow night. (If I were to add a sixth character, I would probably want somebody not super spell/magic focused, just to balance the party a bit)
Edit: I haven’t messaged the people who were picked yet! I will let you know tomorrow once I have finalized the party.

She would listen to the fantastic adventures told by these heroes, who were allies of her parents, and an urge to become an adventurer awakened within young Summer. She learned the basics of Bardic magic and trained in basic combat in hopes of going on her own journeys. She not only wanted to record her own adventurers but the "art" of adventuring itself. She now sets off into the world to see what her parents have seen for herself.
