Alton gives a breath of relief as he sees the shadow dog fall... or dissipate. He then quickly wipes his brow before dashing in to take two shortsword strikes at the final dog left.
Attack: 18 Damage: 7
Attack: 17 Damage: 1
Sneak Attack: 6
Im assuming the second one misses... so a total of 13 non magical piercing damage.
Alton, the first slash of your sword connects with the creature, and it looks very uncomfortable out in this sun as it yelps as the sword cuts into its oddly formed body. (-13)
Next round: Got-odile, Ralf, Dog, Mori, Alton
Got-odile's mouth JUST misses the hurt creature.
Ralf again sends his trusty flying shovels towards the evil dog. 223
The 'poor' dark strange dog-like creature just gets 'cut' to pieces. It kind of dissipates as the blades slice through it and then kind of changes into more of a black blob as it is now motionless.
All is silent. The creep and his freakish beasts are motionless.
Ralf would say "Ack! Too strong these enemies are, I think. Return to Neverwinter, we should. Tell Neverwinter militia about horrors at Thundertree ruins. They deal with this. Yes?"
He looks at you both to see if you want to return to the city.
Got-odile gives a rumbling growl and bobs their snout up and down.
When no more creeps and puppers spill out, he shifts back to Gotur and winces.
"Owwww."
He coaxes a leaf to grow from his staff before plucking it off and placing it over one of his wounds, muttering in druidic. The leaf turns brown and crumbles away, leaving healed flesh behind.
Cure Wounds: 11
He'll give the dead creep's body a quick once over, looking for anything of value or that would give any indication of its affiliation, etc.
You'd just find the creep's sickles and some odd little iron boots that it had on. You get no sense of any affiliation this little guy might have though based on what it was wearing.
“Agreed,” Alton says in response to Ralf as he moves to retrieve his daggers. “Let’s quickly return to the graveyard to alert everyone to the dangers, and see about getting our pay. Then we can find out about talking to the militia.”
(Alton can offer help to Gotur in investigating the creep guy— if you want to reroll)
If you guys do indeed head back to town afterwards, you'd return to the Neverdeath graveyard and explain everything that you've encountered (the scarecrows by the river and then the creep guy plus his crazy dogs at Thundertree.). The owner of the graveyard would be shocked, and pay you the 400gp that he had promised you. "Well... we don't know what exactly is going on yet with the bodies, but you've provided us with a lead to follow up on. Thundertree. It has to be the source of our problems. Let us bring this to the lord's attention so he can gather a team of militia and hit the place hard. Thank you. Thank you for everything. You are all brave souls."
"Ralfaen, come with me. We have much to discuss."
The owner takes Ralf (who works there) away. He would say goodbye etc. (i don't have time to RP that, hahaha! If Snake comes back, they can do it.).
SO - The 400gp can be split into 3. Also, once your characters rest, they can level up as we've been through a lot and I think I had mentioned that.
((Is the plan now to pause in Neverwinter to see what is next for Alton and Gotur? This game kind of slowed down at the end for the last little while, both with pace of play and just the story in general and RP, and I am not sure what you guys might want to do next but let me know either way and we can go from there. Thanks so much for all of the contributions and playing up to this point!!))
Alton gives the corpse a small kick before halfheartedly searching through the creep’s pockets.
(At this point, I think the game really depends on you, Klein. I know we had discussed some 1:1 Alton had to take care of, and I would be interested in doing that. I’d also be happy to jump right into ToA— I just think we might need to recruit a player or two assuming Spider wants to continue too. Overall, I’m IMO for anything, just depends on everyone else.)
400 gp split up for three... it might just be easiest to do two take 133 and one takes 134 gp. At least right now Im not feeling the need to split it down further; I’d be happy to take one of the lower sums.
((I'd be down for tomb, looking forward to running a druid there. Klein, I don't know if Korrik's associates' players might be interested in a second character in your semi-sandbox, but might be worth asking if you're still wanting to run ToA?))
((We can also leave the 1 gp in a petty cash fund for party expenses?))

Alton, you see some type of emblem drawn into the back of the creep's shirt which looks like a witch of some sort. It's not that good of a drawing and seems to have been done with charcoal and blood. You kick the corpse and find nothing in its pockets.
I would be totally up for some Tomb! I just wasn't sure if you guys were still down. It will take some time to get all of the maps set up and also I need to familiarize myself more with the book in general, and so I think that will give us the perfect opportunity to finish up any 1:1 stuff with any of the characters back in Neverwinter as well as potentially getting another person locked and loaded for Tomb in the meantime. That being said, hopefully we can get a touch more engaged with this one (especially me), and I think on my part it will be a lot better because I am going to be following the adventure from the book vs. making it up on my own. If you guys run homebrew games, I applaud you because it's a ton of work! I think I prefer the premade adventures, and so hopefully we can get to know Alton and Gotur more intimately as we start Tomb. Spider, I totally agree, I think Gotur's going to fit perfectly for this environment in Chult.
Ideally we can get a good flow going with a few posts a day (but totally cool if not some days) and I think if Snake comes back to a more full time d&d schedule he could return but for now Ralf can chill at his home-office, the graveyard (haha).
Ok, so please touch base with me in Gotur and Alton 1:1 threads if we need to square up anything there, and in the meantime I will also get the ball rolling on my end with Tomb. I have a solid intro which will kick off at the graveyard, but I will get all of that setup ASAP.
Spider, I will ask Korrik's associates players if one (or both for that matter) want to set up a second character in Neverwinter to join Tomb once I get the chance. ctleath13, do you have one person who you think might want to come into Tomb if the aforementioned folks have no interest? Don't tell them about it just yet, but maybe if you have someone in mind we can keep them in your back pocket if need be.
I will start a new thread for Tomb as well as a campaign and OOC etc. once we get there.
Thanks, and see you in the 1:1 Gotur/Alton threads!
The grave owner would say as you were leaving "OH! Please. Return as soon as you can. Both of you. While the militia takes care of whatever the hell is at Thundertree, I have something else I want to ask of you both. I know I've already asked a lot, but this new matter is of great urgency. Please. Come see me, the both of you, when you can."
You both don't have a real sense of any specific organization or affiliation with the emblem, but you can both see that it is a witch, and I think Gotur would know at least something about witches, otherwise known as hags.
Mainly that they are particularly nasty beings who do horrific gruesome things. Seems to fit the mystery at the Neverdeath graveyard quite well. The Neverwinter militia might have their hands full depending on if there are is in fact a hag, or hags... at Thundertree. As Gotur would also know that hags usually are part of a coven.
Ok, so if you guys want to return to your respective homes in the city and meet up with me in the 1:1 threads for any RP with the leveling up, that's totally fine and welcomed! If not, that is cool too.
Otherwise, let me get Tomb going with the setup and also I'll ask the other crew Spider. Heck maybe both of them want to get a character going. They'd start at L5 :D
Once I am all set and we get the other players, I'll get the first post which would be the party (both Gotur and Alton as well as the new players) meet at the graveyard for a briefing. The owner of the graveyard would've also reached out to the other characters to meet at the same time as Gotur and Alton which I will get going with the other players if they have interest.
