The club strikes BBBB right in the jaw. Spitting out a couple of teeth he yells out in agony. He is really looking beat up and running low on energy it appears to the heroes.
I imagine the positions of players something like this...
Elrodin Valor, Donnar, Menttal BBBB Milo
Next up... Big Bad Bandit Baddie Milo Valor <--- Elrodin Donnar Menttal
Valor's quarterstaff comes down and hits squarely in the center of the top of BBBB's head with a loud and sharp "CRACK!". At the moment of impact, it's as if time stopped for a brief minute. The gathered crowed are frozen in anticipation after inhaling their gasps at the sight and sound of the striking of wood against skull. The BBBB, also apparently frozen, stands complete motionless and quiet. Nothing is registering, to anyone, as to the effect of this blow. Even Valor is unmoving still in striking position holding the quarterstaff against its target. Then, ever so slowly, blood is seen starting to come out of the BBBB's nose, eyes, and ears. The stream of blood is continuous and and picks up speed and volume. The crowd sees it, too, and their frozen gasps turn into exhaled Oooo's and Ahhhh's. The BBBB collapses like a rag doll, dead, into a heap on the ground, never knowing what happened to him.
Six Bandits plus their Captain lay dead, scattered about on the street in front of tavern.
We are no longer in initiative order. Everyone received 120 XP.
With a flick of his wrists, Donnar gives both scimitars a flourish as he sheaths them both.
"A fraction maybe, not a number!" Donnar says loudly for the crowd. "An after lunch skirmish is always nice. Gets the blood pumping! Lets see if they have anything of worth on them. Whats theirs is now ours!"
He'll give the BBBB's body a thuding kick before kneeling down to turn out his pockets for anything of value.
The BBBB's two scimitars (nothing fancy about them),
19 Copper coins
And, remembering the thrown dagger that flew past his head, looks to the tavern and sees it sticking out of the wall
The concerned tavern worker from earlier takes this time, now that the fighting appears to be over, to carry a full bucket of water back from the trough and pours it over the smoldering bandit #1 to ensure the travern doesn't catch fire.
Menttal responds, "Well I'm afraid I didn't start adventuring to 'get the blood pumping'." He walks to the tavern and pulls out the dagger and puts it in his pack.
Onlookers start to disperse and continue about their day. Some stick around to see if anything else is going to happen. A few that are brave enough shake the hand of the dragonborn fighter.
Valor looks over his quarterstaff to make sure it is undamaged from the battle. His breathing slows as he comes down from his Rage. He turns to the rest of the group and says "I wouldn't trust my chances with the local guards if bandits can attack openly in the streets. I say we find a place to avoid any more of this and mend up." he says in a breathless tone.
He looks to his new companions while putting a handfull of pebbles in his pocket. Then looks around and says "I know the forest is said to be dangerous, but maybe we can rest on the outskirts, and I can convince one of the local wild life to aid us? " looking back to his companions, he awaits further input.
Valor shakes his head. "You can wait for the guards. I'll be looking for a place to be out of the way." he says as he turns and starts walking, looking for such a place.
There are a few streets, alleyways, and buildings to duck into as needed. Carts, wagons, and barrels, too. This isn't that big of a town, but big enough to have shops to have things made or various things purchased. There's no real organized law enforcement, rather, just some good citizen volunteers that do the best they can to keep things stable.
He is insistent on heading towards the forest, but as a patient man, he concedes to laying low first. "Maybe we can duck into a weapon shop." he says, glancing to the Bandit baddie's weapons that Donnar had ignored. ...'they might be worth some coin'... he thinks as he picks them up. "I'd like to buy a second club." continues Milo, following behind Valor.
Realizing there is no organized guard, Valor will slow his pace and just find a place to sit down for the moment. He will look to the companions. "So what are we doing anyway?" he asks. "Fighting bandits when we are paid to clear a woodland from a monster seems like taking a long way around." he says.
Valor dusts himself off and creaks his neck right then left. "Alright then," he says with some gusto. 'Let's go see about some monsters in the woods."
Miloasks an onlooker where the local merchant is that buys and sells weapons. The onlooker says, "Oh, you can talk with Tiberius Hammer over at Hammer's Hammer. He's got some basic items, but the quality is good. To get there, just walk up that way until you see the road that goes East. Turn right and go about a quarter mile and you can miss it on the right side of the road. All in all, about a ten minute walk from here."
Donnar grins at Milo's idea of selling the bandits weapons. He had not seen any he liked, so he'd left them where they lay, not considering what value they might hold for someone else.
"Thats pretty smart. I'll follow you. Maybe I can pick up a shield while we're there." Donnar says to the halfling as he begins helping gather the weapons.
"The monsters will still be there for clearing when we're ready. Don't you worry about them." He says matter of factly to Valor.
"I think we should try to leave for the forest as fast as possible, or we take our luck in the town." Menttal says as he begins to strum a small tune on his lute.
He looks to his companions. "Donnar and I are heading to Hammer's Hammer. We'll head to the forest right after." He begins walking down the road. "Come with us or head to the forest and well meet you there. The choice is yours." He says over his shoulder.
Milo heads in the direction he was told Hammer's Hammer was located.

Valor leaps into the air and brings down his quarterstaff with all the force he can muster. (hoping it hits the villain and not the ground :P)
Hit: 12

Describe what the heroes do next.
"Well then, shall we continue." Menttal says, as he holds a wound in his shoulder. "They did a number on us."

Donnar searches BBBB's belongings and finds:
The concerned tavern worker from earlier takes this time, now that the fighting appears to be over, to carry a full bucket of water back from the trough and pours it over the smoldering bandit #1 to ensure the travern doesn't catch fire.
Menttal responds, "Well I'm afraid I didn't start adventuring to 'get the blood pumping'." He walks to the tavern and pulls out the dagger and puts it in his pack.
Donnar pockets the 19 coppers, and sniffs his nose at the mans weapons.
As he stands back to his feet, he shrugs and says, "Of course you didn't, but still, dont you feel more alive?!"
He'll bow and wave to the crowd of onlookers, shaking hands with random folks even if they didn't offer theirs.
Onlookers start to disperse and continue about their day. Some stick around to see if anything else is going to happen. A few that are brave enough shake the hand of the dragonborn fighter.
