Hifu looks dejected. "Damn Moose. "UP YER ARSE"" he says, trying to mimic Gilgin, shouting to the world. "I'm beat. I think we head to Nimsey's house and shelter for the night, try again in the morning. Unless you guys have any brighter ideas.." He straightens his gear and turns back toward town, stopping to look if everyone is coming.

A wizard is never late, nor is he early, he arrives precisely when he means to.
“Jest?” Gilgin gives James a look of confusion before continuing. “Aye, I think it’s the only way. The Moose only attacks those that are helpless, so maybe we become helpless and it will come? Or at least make it look like it.”
Hifu says “I would be willing to try your ploy, but I don’t want to be caught out in these temperatures at night. I think we should start again in the morning.”

"Unfortunately being 'caught out' is kind of the point."
"When things are safer and there are good number, the beast seems to give any hunters the slip."
"If we present ourselves as being in a little trouble, we may attract the beast and be able to catch it."
"Besides, I know a technique to help with the weather, something I learned from...an old friend."
Jamesthinks for a little bit before continuing.
"Ok, let me layout my idea and then we can decide if we try it or just go home."
"I have it on good authority, that it's possible to build a shelter from cut snow blocks and that it's quite good at keeping the cold out."
"So, if we build one of these, large enough to hold 4 of us, we can hide most of us away, while 2 people stay on watch at a time."
"We rotate the watch, so no one has to be cold for too long and hope the beast takes a liking to a couple of 'travelers' caught out in the snow at night."
"I also have tents, usually one for me and one for my dogs, but obviously the dogs are home safe and warm."
"So if we set the tents inside the snow hut, they should combine to give us good warmth inside."
Jamespulls out the trap he purchased before they group set out.
"And I have this, which if we pick our resting spot right, could maybe catch the beast and slow it down if it tries to make a run for it."
Jameslooks to Boga at this,
"I may need your help with placement, I'm more used to...urban hunting."
Jameslooks around at his friends.
"What do you think, up for a bit of cold and dark to catch our quarry?"
Hifu likes the plan. “I have heard of this, I just forgot how to set it up. I think it is a great idea James - count me in! Let me know when I need to be the bait and I’ll give it my best.”

If you want to build the shelter, give me three survival checks to see how well you can build it. (Gilgin gets advantage for stone cunning/architecture)
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Gilgin gladly sets to work shaping the snow, getting into a rhythm with it, he almost seems to forget the biting cold as he works away. 21 Survival
Despite not knowing much about living out in the wilds, when the concept is explained to him, he knows just how to make sure the structure is properly insulated. He works not like a survivalist, or a labourer but as an artist, taking care over his creation.
First you got some trouble making stable blocks from the powdered snow and it takes several attempts before you find a method. Nyx warms up areas of snow with her magic to partly melt it before you can shape it into densely packed blocks. You then use daggers and swords to shape those blocks. Building a dome made from snow is very similar to building one from stone, so under Gilgins guidance you are able to assemble a very stable shelter even without experience. After 4 hours it is finally ready and you use parts of the tent to insulate the floor and make a makeshift door to finish of your shelter.
While you build the shelter, Boga is looking after placing and hiding the trap ( 1) and making a campfire to prepare a simple porridge from dried oatcakes and dried berries that he collects from your rations.
(Well, the shelter took longer then expected, everyone mark of one ration and a total of 6 torches please)
Give me 3 Perception checks (with advantage if you got Darkvision) please. Also please note if you have a preference who takes shifts to guard together.
Kravek grunts a bit Perhaps that is best. We should not make foolish choices in this weather.
He looks around a moment to see if he can get an idea of where they have travelled already.
The journey back will be difficult and perhaps wolves or other creatures still watch our movements.
Your choice, you can make camp, keep on searching for tracks or try to work your way back. It is now around 8PM.
"While I would normally agree with Kravek's reasoning here, maybe we have to do something a little crazy to get the attention of the moose?"
"Maybe Gilgin's jest from earlier is actually the way to go?"
"If the beast seems to be able to avoid normal hunting parties, maybe we have to lure it out with some hapless travellers?"
"Now I'm not advocating for everyone just sleeping until we are set upon by creatures of the night, but if we set a watch, maybe we should?"
James looks between his companions.
"What's everyone's thoughts?"

„We would need some kind of shelter and it won‘t be pleasant, but 1 night could be done.“
James, Hifu and Kravek, please roll me history checks.
Hifu scratches his head and thinks about this -
History : 7
A wizard is never late, nor is he early, he arrives precisely when he means to.
Hifu, you do remember stories about people who were stuck outside and survived, but you don‘t remember the details.
Kravek 8, you didn‘t pay to much attention when our family was talking about how good you had it and how hard live used to be.
James 19, you do have a tent and a ( second tent or hunting trap) with you.
James looks at his artificially aged friend,
"Unfortunately being 'caught out' is kind of the point."

Nyx has darkvision and will take the first shift. Perception check: 17.
Also removed 1 ration and 6 torches. (nobody else needs to remove torches)
(I assume this is Kraveks history check but Kravek has +3 history which would put him at 11 if it makes a difference)
Kravek will help build the shelter using one of his handaxes to shape the blocks.
When its time to rest Kravek will sit out the first watch but will go out on the 2nd or 3rd using a torch for vision.
Hifu takes the next watch, keeping an eye out with the torch. He performs stretches and deep breathing exercises as he watches.
Perception : 15
