Your trip to the Foaming Mugs is uneventful and actually depressing. The sights and especially smells of the town soon remind everyone why “The great outdoors” is so great. As tired as you are it is apparent that it might be best to re-stock the wagon, warm your bones and get a few hot meals behind you then move on to brighter opportunities in this land devoid of sunshine.
Arrival at the Foaming mug is does not relieve the sense of dullness here. The sign is painted happily enough with the picture of oversize tankards splashing foamy ale, but the placard has seen several decades of bad weather and a brush never touched its surface again to touch up the faded colors. There is obviously a stable in the back of the two-story building, but no stable hands are anywhere to be seen to take the mounts or see to the wagon.
Inside it is dimly lit, dry, and much warmer. though it smells heavily of unwashed bodies, coal, and fish oil. there are a few customers, and apparently two staff having a conversation at the bar. Plenty of open tables and a small, raised area apparently for a performer of some kind, in one corner.
As those of you start to shrug out of clothing and gear. One young man at the bar rushes of back and a older woman approaches a bit cautiously and welcomes you to the Foaming mugs.
"Ale, all around" says Sandow as he checks head-nods for consent among his companions. "and what have you roasting on the fire? Perhaps some meat or soup and bread?" Sandow puts some silver on the table to show that they are capable of paying.
[action] Sandow is looking for the man he recognized at the gate, feeling that any employment in this dismal town is likely to not pan out. He also takes notice of any other guests to the inn, noting those that look like travelers, those that look like townsfolk. If he is able to catch any snippets of conversation, he'll try and judge the tone of the room.
Given the absence of a hand, Belthran tends to Ragnhild himself. Only once he is satisfied the solid draft horse is settled does he enter the warmth of the taproom. Shrugging out of his heavy furs, he quaffs half of his ale in the first gulp.
Nodding towards the empty raised area he observes, “Looks like we have to make our own entertainment tonight.”
Rowan settles in next to her companions, unhooking her fur-lined cloak and draping it over the back of her chair. She takes a few sips of her ale before sending Enya to make a lap around the building and through the stables. Her golden eyes cloud over as she starts to see through the familiar's vision.

Vor follows Belthran with his mule Stavka and also sees him to be settled and fed. As Belthran turns to leave first, Vor hands him a gold coin with a wink, "Don't spend it all in one place sailor. I'll be right behind you."
Finished with Stavka, Vor joins the others inside, stopping by the bar to ask the patron about reindeer stew, bread, and rooms.

In addition to Belthran and Vors Alaric's accountant, Vernon, and Billie his Valet are helping with the horses and the wagon. after a few minutes another two young men from the tavern show up and start to help with the stabling.
Enya pops by the stable for a moment are looks the entire operation over and then heads off into the night.
In the Tavern the soup is a hearty hot fish and potatoes. the main drink is a strange mushroom style beer and a pumpkin ale. there is no bread but a style of hard biscuit made from Maztican corn that was made with honey. the food is hot and flavorful if plain fare.
After a while the warmth starts entering the groups bones.
As Alaric finishes his food and finds the warmth return to his body, the difficult trek through the north has made him increasingly weary. He waves down the barmaid and says: "Excuse me miss, does Foaming Mug provide lodgings?"
[Action] In this interaction Alaric will attempt to use his background feature "Kept in Style" to provide payment for lodgings for his companions or at the very least himself.
Alaric continues, "If so, you can send an invoice to the council." Alaric then brandishes his signet ring showing the Bladesemmer crest.
Rowan mentally calls Enya to return inside, letting her own vision return. "I sent Enya to look around. We should be safe here if we stay the night," Rowan tells the others.
Once they've finished their meal, she'll ask the group, "Would anyone else like to come with Krombek and I? We were planning to go looking for medical supplies."
Belthran has a sour face as he tucks hungrily into the soup. "Fish. Why does it always have to be fish", he mutters miserably. For a sailor from a seafaring island nation, he has an uncommon distaste for seafood.
"I will accompany you. Happenstance we'll find some medicinal spirits to cleanse my anguished palate."

"Allow me sir". Vernon jumps up dabbing himself with a kerchief. he attends the barkeep. they speak a bit and the barkeep laughs good naturedly and pats Vernon on the shoulder nodding and glancing at the nobleman in apparent amusement. Alaric, is of course oblivious to all of this as he contentedly sips his family's house vintage wine.

no snippets. no sign of Herne. room tone is bland except for his comrades enjoying the warmth and the food.
After dinner Krombek decides to take a walk and see if he can locate any supplies to refit his medical kit
Rowan, Asvala, and Belthran agree to accompany him. After speaking to a server, they are given the direction to a dry goods store that also has an apothecary.
The walk isn’t far and soon they locate the apothecary shop. The place isn’t much to look at especially for those who have shopped in Waterdeep. But there are a few bits of new and used equipment, mostly for mining and agricultural. after just a moment or two a tall fit man in an apron comes out from back he sees both the Goliath and the Tiefling right off and greets you with a smile. "Can I help you folks?"
As the party seems to have split, Sandow asks the remainder in the inn if they'd like to check out the rest of the town and makes some inquiries into what work might be available.
[action] Is there a public post? (literally a tree post in the middle of town that people leave messages on if you're not familiar.) Otherwise Sandow and anyone else that wants to accompany would like to check out the rest of the town (if no one else is interested, I'm not going to split the party further-we should always travel with at least 1 companion). While looking around town and making inquiries, I'm keeping my eye out for any persons throwing 'thieves cant' to one another.
Alaric turns to Sandow and says "Well it seems that our lodgings our secured, so I wouldn't mind accompanying you until we decide to turn in for the evening". Alaric also expresses that he is particularly interested in visiting the local smith and finding out where the town gets some of its commodities. Mainly precious metals and oil.

I'll respond to Rowan, "We can hit the inn first for an ale and check-in, and then go restock."
"Good luck selling me HERE, place looks pretty void of anyone who'd pay a good price." He winks and taps the flintlock pistol holstered in his belt
I'll address the old woman, "Do you know where the stable hand might be? Didn't see him at the stables, passing by."
