Old School player recruiting DM for Lost Mine of Phandelver - Please plan to post once per day minimum. Level one, roll ability scores with 1s rerolled once (use dice icon above/select ability scores). Looking for 4-5 adventurers, balanced party. I do plan to watch encumbrance, rations and look for players who try to play to their character's personality for inspiration awards. I'm not a star Role-player and don't expect you to be - just have fun. Your character will start on the road with the group so please have equipment and spells ready for traveling no changes without rest/purchase once game starts. Please submit below if interested - I look forward to it.
Backstory : A native of Waterdeep's orphanages and back alleys, Loren always tried his best to keep his feet on the path of the narrow and righteous. Old mother-superior Esme of Ilmater's Holy Academy for Cast-and-Runaways would always scold him as a child for returning to the orphanage after dusk, his pockets bulging with almost accidentally liberated contents of other people's pockets. Upon his coming of age, and without anywhere else to turn, Esme prevailed upon a distant relative to hire the young halfling to watch over some merchandise headed away from the city, where his antics and shenaniganery had grown to proportions of local legend. Perhaps the change of environs might encourage the young halfling to reconsider the blessed words of the broken god, and reform him towards a proper education and career. Or, he might bankrupt her distant cousin - she considered flipping a coin to divine the fate's for this one, but deferred, trusting instead in Ilmater's holy will for the child.
Backstory: Unthir developed a local reputation for playing his horn outside on the patio during his lunch hour at the tavern. Considering the lack of interruption to such daily disruption, he must have been considerably skilled at everything but the horn as the tavern was always packed even through the commotion. Time went on, however, and Unthir was soon noticed by a traveling academic who offered to teach him if he would promise to continue in the kitchen as well. The man told him, "Kid, you're playing sucks but you're food is great. I'll fix you up to be a good and proper bard so long as you promise to keep cooking." Unthir agreed and was indeed schooled in the ways of musical mysticism.
Four years later and the bard to be had become a bum. He was still cooking-now in another tavern-and his horn had a thin layer of dust atop it as it laid on his bed in the basement of his new job. Then, he overheard the need for a wagon to be escorted down the road. Figuring that was as good a start as any to a "real bard" he gathered his things, and ran after them.
[He's on this adventure to prove to himself that he's an actual bard but he's never tried to be an actual bard.]

Iymbryl is an Sun Elf warrior from Evereska. A younger scion of one of the city's noble families, he was trained to join the ranks of the Swords of Evereska; the noble milita that guarded the realm. Unfortunately for his family Iymbryl felt a wanderlust that couldn't be contained to such a small space. Deciding to leave home and hone his skills while experiencing the world, he has started his journey as an adventurer along the Sword Coast.
Backstory: While my siblings and friends were learning the art of the hunt, and how to kill with blade and arrow, I was more content to run, jump, and climb through the forest. No one could keep up with me. I reveled in my physical abilities, and soon my mind wanted to know more. How could I push myself physically, mentally, spiritually, to be the best I could be? I took to studying lore around improving the physical and mental form. I continued a strict regimen of physical exertion and mental meditation to keep myself sharp. I found that my physical and mental exercises augmented my ability to study. But the materials I studied were a disappointment: precious little was known about the function, and improvement, of the physical and mental health of the body. I left my woodland home to study abroad, determined to create my own new knowledge on the subject through raw personal experiences. I eagerly rise to any challenge, to see how my discipline and raw physical capabilities can become the solution to any problem. My parents are disappointed. They would rather I apply my excellent capabilities in the defense of our woodland nation, as a scout or a soldier. Such a mundane and narrow-minded career is not for me. Someday I'll show my parents, my siblings, everyone, that I'm looking so much further ahead than they imagined.
Regarding voting: I don't really mind what we do or don't track, I'll be ok. My monk is a bit of an ascetic anyway :) I can also change my character if the DM wants something to fit the group better; I can play any class comfortably.
This should be good, turning off recruitment here - if anyone pops up in the next couple minutes I'll consider making a larger group, but for now work out your character sheets. First Rogue posted is the only Rogue - @mrtweedeh you're in as rogue. Everyone to this point is considered in once character sheet approved.
And please vote at the top for each of the questions - majority wins

Name: Joshua Silverlight
Ability scores: 15139171114
Race and Class : Sorcerer
Background : Scholar
Backstory : Joshua grew up like any other boy in Neverwinter. His family wasn't well off but they didn't lack in the basic necessities. Little unexplained things would happen, toys would end up in his crib, he would have things that should have been out of his reach. When he was 10 he was playing with his little sister when an explosion happened. His parents found him unconscious next to a crater and his sister was nowhere to be found.
The family was approached by the Neverwinter Academy and Joshua was taken there to be trained to use what his parents were told was his innate magical abilities. He progressed quick but when his concentration would slip or his emotions ran high his magic would manifest in unpredictable ways.
Completing his studies Joshua stayed at the school, spending his time in the libraries. he never told anyone he was searching for a way to bring his sister back Not finding what he was looking for he set out into the world to find the knowledge he was seeking.
If rations remain as not checked - you may reallocate rations value if you purchased to other equipment equivalent to value and provided commonly acquired.
ooc conversation will be noted as ooc and if kept simple can run in main thread per vote if this doesn't change before game start.

Looks good. Link Character sheet if you can. For anyone that needs assistance with this - click share at top of your character sheet, then when window pops to the right - under the link click make a copy then edit you entry and paste in. You likely all do, but just in case. Also please adjust that 7 to a 9 ability score if you'd like.

Looks good, Playing as a Fighter with future hopes of Eldritch Knight, thank you for accommodating my preference.
Votes in - Rations since I'm not counting either add 5 silver per day of rations to your currency or re-allocate to other equipment of equivalent value if you'd prefer. Encumbrance is tracked. (ooc will be done in thread if simple, or message me directly, I won't quote in the thread generally as it takes up a lot of room - here just for recruiting)
Planning to start Campaign tomorrow evening. Give everyone time to finalize spells they have ready, equipment - etc. Looks like a great group. Thank you all for your interest!

Looks good - I'll be sending out campaign invites by tomorrow night. In the meantime plan your spells for travel/adventure - you will be starting on the road.
Play style - to avoid posting in campaign thread - I'm posting here.
For battle I'm planning that initiative is rolled by everyone, DM lets players know the order including monsters then players may all post their move as a spoiler for the DM to open as battle progresses when their turn comes up. As DM I will advise in thread what happens as a result as the moves progress. So other players will not need to open spoilers to see what is going on. You may edit your move up until its your turn as you see things happening and I will refresh before reacting to it. Of course resist editing once its your turn. Does this seem fair to all? I think this will keep the game moving so you don't spend most of your time waiting for turns to be taken. I hope this makes sense. I'm open to suggestions so we can decide best before campaign starts.
