"You know, the Captain had this odd lock on his face when we came through. Like he recognized us maybe... or expected someone else? Maybe he was waiting for someone"

Khutulun assists Mal and other than some disgruntled woodlice nothing further is revealed, as Khutulun thinks further on it she becomes sure that they should check out the last unexplored room.
As Khutulun nears the door she notes the latch has been broken inwards, pushing on it gently it swings inward on suprisingly functional hinges.
Delicate painted glazed ceramic plates set atop a table carved with symbols of death and bodily decay. The plates are adorned with scenes so horrific that they turn the stomach a little, though they appear to be extremely well made. Golden spoons and forks sit beside the plates..
Similarly carved mahogany sliding cupboards line the room, Mal and Khutuluns keen eyes see an amount of brownish-red liquid slowly dripping from one of them.
Mal goes over to the cupboard, and nodding wordlessly to his companions, slides the door open and jumps back.
Stuffed unceremoniously into the cupboard are the corpses of two Lokanan youth. One male and one female. Mal realises with shock that he recognises them; they are Pindi and Batam Tullavu. Oldest children of the Tullavu merchant family.
Krikoris curiously examines the plates, and pockets the golden forks and spoons, the scenes are horrific, but he's seen dragons devour people alive, so he's a little jaded.
Khutulun suddenly realises why the Captain looked concerned and confused when they came through the door, he thought his horrific crime had been discovered by outsiders....
( Just to note they are somewhere between 17-21.....so yes, horrible but not....that....horrible.)
( Mal sees two options ( maybe more if you can think of one) head back to the entrance shaft and try and sneak out of the mercenary camp in daylight or head back to the entry shaft and take the other branch north to the complex directly beneath The Shrine of the Maw. )
"There are clearly people coming and going from down here... I do not like the idea of escaping past the mercenary camp but the Shrine of the Maw could be filled will all kinds of horrors if they are responsible for all of this."

Mal stretches, and definitely feels better. "Maybe we should take a closer look around this room, look for some clues, po?"
Mal starts to look around the room, checking carefully for anything to help fill in the gaps from the conversation we heard.
Investigation: 1
Mal finds nothing else in the room.
Khutulun does recall the odd look on the Captains face as they came through the door though....

Khutulun assists Mal and other than some disgruntled woodlice nothing further is revealed, as Khutulun thinks further on it she becomes sure that they should check out the last unexplored room.
"Let us head to that last room that we have not explored, maybe we can find something there that will help us make sense of this"
Khutulun will start to head off.

Krikoris wakes feeling refreshed and stretches, "Ah, much better, my blood is restored, in both fashions. Where to next mighty leader?"
Uce wakes up and stretches as well.
I have an intelligence of six, I know what I'm doing.
Mal follows Khutulun, and feels much better about their chances.
As Khutulun nears the door she notes the latch has been broken inwards, pushing on it gently it swings inward on suprisingly functional hinges.

Stuffed unceremoniously into the cupboard are the corpses of two Lokanan youth. One male and one female. Mal realises with shock that he recognises them; they are Pindi and Batam Tullavu. Oldest children of the Tullavu merchant family.
"Oh, no. These two kids are the eldest of the Tullavu Merchant family. Let's get them out of there, that's not right."
Mal tries to pull them from the cupboard. Can he tell what killed them? Do they have anything on them we could return to the family?
"Kids? What kind of monster..." Cinta trails off.

Krikoris curiously examines the plates, and pockets the golden forks and spoons, the scenes are horrific, but he's seen dragons devour people alive, so he's a little jaded.
The two bodies are not yet stiffening and Mal is able to easily remove them from the furniture.
Mal notes the silver worked bracelets about their wrists that carry images of their family totems and bond-sign.
Both appear to have been strangled to death and badly brutalised before hand.....
Khutulun suddenly realises why the Captain looked concerned and confused when they came through the door, he thought his horrific crime had been discovered by outsiders....
( Just to note they are somewhere between 17-21.....so yes, horrible but not....that....horrible.)
As the group regarded their discovery in horror they heard voices once again drawing closer and then fading off into the distance....
Mal takes the bracelets. "We need to return these to the family. Guru Jujur is long gone by now, but he has crimes to answer for, yes po?"
Krikoris nods with a vague shrug, "I'll follow your lead."
