Mal takes a look around, and with no more whispers, takes his shortsword and prods the sand in the pit. He starts looking around the room for anything of value.

Investigation: 7
Mal digs in the sand and finds that just below the surface are hundreds of white bones...mostly arms and shoulders...some of them twitch occasionally but otherwise seem harmless. The only other thing in the room is the book on the stand.

Mal shrugs, and says "Everything else we've read in here has been terrifying, why not that?" He looks around for a way to take the book (without opening it or reading it) without stepping on the sand.
Mal easily picks his way through the crumpled cadavers and over to the book, it lies open and he is able to note that it seems to be a record of different philosophical debates and the names of the winning parties....there seems no record of the losers. The pages are inlaid with gold filigree and his streetwise self guesstimates the whole book would be worth 100 silver ingots in materials...perhaps more to a collector.
"Looks safe to me - looks valuable, at any rate." Mal closes it and places it in a sack. "Does anyone know what time it is? Might be easier to leave under cover of darkness."
( Fail? No, Cinta killed the hell out of it.)
(Ah! I thought it was still demanding a debate.)
Cinta moves to the next until they are all sent to the afterlife.

"That was disturbing to say the least. I wonder why they wanted to debate?"

Kirkoris eyes the book nervously, "I'm not sure if we should burn that or read it."

Gajesh readies to toss the flame in his hand at the newest book if it looks as though it would cause harm to any of them. "Destroy it is my vote..."

( When Gajesh entered it was almost dusk outside....but theres been a few rests since then.)
Krikoris shrugs, “Might as well see this through. We’ve made a few enemies this trip and some extra coin could buy us a few much needed friends, yes?”
"I always like to keep moving," shrugs Cinta, leaning on her pike whilst trying to find a comfortable spot for her prosthetic against the skin.

Mal gingerly steps out of the center of the room, and says "Have we explored this floor thoroughly, then? Are there any areas we haven't opened?"
Mal believes that they have opened all the doors in this section of the under-ruins with the exception of the one in the room with the coffers.
Rushdi will attempt to identify the spell
Paladin - warforged - orange
( Sorry, clarification, spell?)
The coffers, excuse me
Paladin - warforged - orange
While Rushdi takes a closer look at the coffers, Mal goes to inspect the door that the group bypassed. Investigation: 6
