"I believe we need to let Ketut know that we have freed you. I know that his family does not approve of you, will there be trouble if we take you to him or is it best that we let him know that you are free?" the monks says in a very monotone voice.

" Let him know, I will go home and see if my family noted my disappearance at all.", Abet said with a wistful smile as he walked away then stopped and pressed a jade figure of a rooster into her palm.
" Show him this, it was a gift from him to me."

Khutulan knows that the Baranam Family ( Ketuts ) have a compound on the far side of the Garunam sector from her own and is able to guide the others there with no trouble.
The walls of the Baranam compound are prowled by a number of black civets and an old man dressed in dark clothing and festooned in gold jewellry squats before the open gate leading in....
" Good Evening, What is the purpose of your visit?"
Khutulan's takes the jade rooster from Abet with a nod.
When they are questions by the old man at the Baranam household, Khutulan steps forwards and acknowledges him with a slight bow. "We have business with Ketut, he would be expecting us."

When they are questions by the old man at the Baranam household, Khutulan steps forwards and acknowledges him with a slight bow. "We have business with Ketut, he would be expecting us."
The old man raises an eyebrow and looks at one of the black civets which nods in return and goes scrambling across the roof tops of the compound out of sight.
Some few minutes later a young richly dressed man exited the gate and came into the street and dismissed the old man, but remained silent until the second civet also withdrew.
" I am Ketut Baranam. Ah, Khutulan......who are your friends and why are you calling? Did your mistress receive my families condolence gifts?", he said, obviously confused.
Mal looks around, feeling a little out of place. He's not used to dealing with such rich, connected people, but his new friends travel in high circles, it seems.
"If you sent them, then she would have received them, I am sure of this. But I have not been at her side the last day." The monk motions to those around her. "I have been with these.." she cracks her neck to the side "companions".
Pausing for a second to allow him to take in the motley group, Khutulan continues.
"I believe that you needed something done. Not for your family, but for yourself. We have done this for you. Found the monster who held your friend as a prisoner in the jungle and ushered them from their mortal coil. Now your friend is free and back at his home."
"But as is the way of man, now I need something done. To provide balance so to speak."
Jupp is just following the conversation and wonders why people of high class talk is such roundabout ways instead of going straight for the point. Jupp will then gently nudge Mal and ask him "Could you pass me one of the jucy fruits I would like try it while we wait"
Briefly considering the merits of handing the big man a durian, just to see what happens, Mal instead errs on the side of caution and going unnoticed, and hands Jupp a mango.

Ketut ran his eyes over the assembled group and they grew wide indeed though he managed to keep his composure and simply nodded to each in turn no matter how unusual or sacred they may be.
As Khutulun continued to speak the young mans composure began to crack and finally with a quick glance over his shoulder towards his family compound he broke and collapsed to his knees reaching out to kiss Khutuluns hands.
" Thankyou, thankyou, thankyou....most honoured one....and..", he rose unsteadily back to his feet and looked the others over again. "....your resplendant fellows."
His eyes red with tears and cheeks flushed he ran a hand over his eyes....then took in the meaning of her closing words.
His voice dropped lower.
" Ah........Seto.....yes? Then I must ask proof of what you have done. Though in truth it pains me to ask for you have given me my moon and stars........but in exchange you ask for my honour."
" But, if your Mistresses father was truly slain by Seto, as some rumours speak then know that I had no knowledge of it.....I always respected Senem, even if I did not like him. It was wrong of Seto to escalate things so. If that is indeed what happened."
Khutulun does not move as he kisses her hands or react in any way.
"Abet has went home to see him family, it is simple for you to check".
"Seeing you speak of honour, may honour is at stake that my mistresses father was murdered while I was in his house. If it was Seto, I need to get to the bottom of it. You say you have no knowledge... how do I find proof? How do we get inside Seto's home?"
Ketut took the figure with an almost reverent expression.
" I did not doubt you, but this is now business.", he smiled apologetically.
" Proof? If there is proof it is probably within Seto''s house....or in the heads of those closer to him...I can tell you how to get inside and describe where he might keep such records. I would ask that you not.....", he looked around at the group and its large and dangerous looking members. "....kill too many of my friends. "
" Or I could give you other information regarding the merchants and the.....donations."
"Any help you can give us would be helpful, po," Mal said from behind the stoic form of Khutulun. "We seek only to right the wrong, not to cause more mayhem."
He looked over his shoulder back at the compound, " The bajang will be back soon. Go outside the walls on the border of the ruins. There is a nagah statue with a broken jaw, at its base is a cleft down into a tunnel. Work your way through the tunnels southward and you will be back under the wall. There will probably be four or five guards at the base of the stairs up into the estate Seto has taken in The Fallen Houses."
" Be careful though, the tunnels there connect to others further under the ruins.....sometimes things find their way out...thats how we lost Than."
He looked over his shoulder again, " What else do you need?"

Khutulun nodes to the old woman but does not respond, staying silent. She then turns to Abet, "Lets go then shall we?"

Abet nodded eagerly.
" Uh...where are we going? Exactly?"
