Corwin is glad to be outdoors, on the ground, on the move, and out of the city. He moves easily along, occasionally slowing his pace so as not to get out too far ahead of the main group. He keeps his eyes and ears attuned to the land around him, looking for signs of what sort of wildlife (and other inhabitants) make this land their home. He holds his head a little higher now, his back a little straighter and altogether looks much more at ease than he did in the city.
Shadow is happy to be back in nature again, the boat ride and the time in the city might have been fun and there were lots of fun things to see. But out here is where she was most at home. Cazoon didn’t feel the same need to stay close by Shadow but would zoom away and then come back after a while.

Basina Fairfoot- Halfling paladin Shadow through the forest (Shadow) - Tabaxi Ranger (beastmaster)
As the party makes their way out of the city It isn't long before they are trecking through a thick deciduous forest. There isn't much in terms of a clear trail. And often times the party needs to veer off from the river to acomadate the rising hills and cliffs, as going in a straight line may prove to be dangerous. Corwin is at home with his surroundings. The birds chirping, the rodents skittering by, the general calmness of nature that Elvire lacked.
So much so, he gets lost.
Shadow seems to be making great time as she leads her teamates through the thicket. It's not until half an hour of walking till' she realizes one of the elf boys is missing.

OOC: Corwin falls in the river and is swept downstream ...
The siren call of the woods proves irrestible to Corwin after his foray in the city, and he soon finds himself wandering off in an attempt to locate the source of curious bird call. It sounds much like a rare forest lark he would only see from time to time back home, and he wants to confirm his conclusion. However, he soon loses the sound of the call. Pausing, he looks back over his shoulder and realizes he has left the group. Oh, to be a bird or a flying snake who could just wing its way back to the others. Perhaps some day ...
He peers around and tilts his head, looking for visible signs of the party -- and listening for audible signs as well.
Perception 8
EDIT: OMG. On the positive side, I doubled my last roll.
Oh, look, another bird. Quite beautiful. No party, though.
After checking his immediate surroundings for a bit, Corwin finds no teifling nor halfling. After forging around for some familiar tracks for a minute or two, Corwin hears a familiar his as Cazoon flies by just overhead. The winged reptile circles Corwin a few times before flying in front of him. Cazoon does a little dance in the air and takes off a few feet the same way it came, looking back to Corwin.
Before you follow the flying snake, make another Perception check, Corwin.
As you go to follow, Cazoon, you hear a noise to your immideate left. For a moment you see nothing, then, through the ribbons of what sunshine remained in the late afternoon, a humanoid form glistens through the brush. You take a few cautious steps to get a better look, squinting your eyes a bit and, on all fours, this is crawling in the direction where Cazoon came, towards your party, not more than 200ft away from you.
Just as Corwin finally gets his bearings, thanks to the flying snake, he catches a glimpse of the monstrous looking creature creeping toward the party. He's pretty sure it hasn't seen him yet, and he's hopeful he can get back to his group to warn them. With a glance at Kazoo, Corwin tilts his head and says a silent prayer to the elven lords of nature.
The air silently seems to warp and shimmer around the rangy elf, and in but a moment, an everyday deer stands in his place. Then, like a bolt released from a crossbow, the deer shoots toward the adventuring party. Corwin's hoping that with the animal's natural speed and the element of surprise, he'll arrive in plenty of time to issue a warning, even as he crashes through the underbrush.
OOC: Bonus action to wild shape into a deer. Dash action to go double speed (100 feet) toward party. Assuming he can keep going, he'll dash another hundred feet to reach the party, then use a bonus action to revert to normal form and start babbling about what he's seen.
Corwin makes a b-line towards his party, Cazoon flying just overhead. As he is running, his eyes catch just a glimpse of the same shimmering hummanoid form now a distance away from him. A claw from under the brush shoots out to catch Corwin's legs, but he vaults over it without issue. A second claw comes from the trees, raking Corwin across the face. The wild shape ends as the elf tumbles a few feet to a stop. Picking himself up, he sees two more of those sickly slimy creatures, the one that hit him 10ft from him and the one that missed 50ft away.
Cazoon, seeing the danger, flies back to its master.
Shadow. Cazoon returns, but without Corwin. Cazoon flies frantically above the party.
“Something is wrong, we need to go. We need to find Corwin, we must prepare for battle “ Shadow says to the company. “Cazoon lead the way “ she tells the snake and Cazoon starts flying back the way he came. Shadow will set of after him as fast as she can.

The creature closest to Corwin and lunges at him, claws stretched out to rake his face again, but he is ready. Corwin ducks to the side as the creature slashes nothing but air. Corwin silently curses himself (for but a second) for becoming separated from the others and ending up in this situation. He knows that the gods of the forest and the Lone Wolf will protect him, but these creatures seem truly vicious.
The power of his patron surges through him as once more he draws on nature's power to become a beast. A massive wolf appears where he stands and snarls at the foul creature before snapping its powerful jaws to attack. Should his teeth find the monster's limbs, Corwin twists his powerful neck, trying to slam the foul thing to the ground.

Corwin's fangs find purchase in the creature's rib area. There is a bit of a strugle as you try to rend this thing off its feet, it digging its claws into your face with one hand and slashing at your back with the other. Finally, you hoist the creature about a foot into the air and slam it back down. The creature retaliates with another claw to your face. Attack: 20 Damage: 4 You sink your fangs deeper into the creature as it tries to attack and it shrieks in pain. The second creature is on top of you, and attacks. Attack: 12 Damage: 7 A new pair of claws rake across your side, but you do not budge. The rest of the party is now one combat round away.
As they are sprinting through the undergrowth, Moskov begins chanting an oath in Auran, the elemental language of air. His words sound well-rehearsed and rythmic, almost as if he had repeated this chant a hundred times before. As they approach, a moderate breeze begins to blow through the forest. He pulls out from his robes a medallion and loops the metal string around his neck.

The coppery taste of the creature's blood sends a feral surge coursing through the wolf. This is nature, Corwin knows, fight, flight, kill or be killed. The fur around his mouth stained red, Corwin lashes out at the closest enemy that seems most injured or closest to death, trying to eliminate at least one of his foes.

"Corwin!" Gorm call out at the top of her lungs. "Corwin!!"
"It was Corwin, wasn't it?" She asks, turning to the rest of the party.
She'll call out the name several more times, with standard "finding lost person" interval between shouts.
We're doing one small murder-y thing for a bigger, better reason. The ends justify the means.

Shadow is worried, she loves the woods but she also know that it has a dark side.
”Cazoon, find our friend” she says to the snake and Cazoon takes of, zig zagging between the trees.
