The bed turns up nothing. While on the surface the coverings appear to be valuable, upon closer inspection they turn out to be worn and torn and valuless.
The table and chairs, likewise look to be expensive, but in reality are very common.
The writing desk however, is another story. Parchments are scattered across the surface, partially obscuring a serving tray with ewer and 4 goblets. Rifling through the drawers turns up additional reams of parchment, a pair of bound scroll, and a number of quills and inkwells.
Investigation 15+:
You find a false bottom in the bottom right hand drawer. Opening the compartment reveals a silver necklace set with fire opals (8000 gp value)
Investigation 10+:
You discern the serving set is actually made of electrum and valued at roughly 2000 gp.
Investigation 8+:
You find a small leather pouch in the top left drawer, containing 9 pp and a black opal worth 1000 gp.
Investigation < 8:
You feel the desk is just too much of a mess to have anything of value.

After resting for a bit, Barnabus joins in the search for clues and answers focusing on the leaders chamber.
"We should decide where we go from here. With the amount of food stored I'd say they probably weren't expecting to be relieved for a couple weeks. If we don't find a clue we might have to wait it out."
Perception: 19
While taking his own turn at the desk Barnabus pulls just a little too hard. The desk slides out past the end. The sudden imbalance causes the drawer pull to be ripped from the dwarfs stubby fingers. The box crashes to the floor splitting into multiple pieces. The bottom breaks apart revealing not only a false bottom but a beautiful necklace with in.
"Ooooo... Have a look at that his bauble. Quite the treasure we've uncovered."
(OOC: I'm at work right now, but will calculate final XP values for this segment when I get home. Definitely have the beds for a long rest here.)
An initial glance through the accumulated documents turns up a litany of missives from several different names, none of which are familiar, but seem to be organizational requests and announcements. (Total review will take several days just due to sheer volume.)
The two scrolls can be opened to reveal inventory records. The first scroll lists mostly names and dates going back over two years. The second scroll is materials received and used, again with dates going back more than two years. (Complete review of these documents will also take a number of days due to the amount of information enclosed.)
Of note: all of the documents end with "The One Mind Sees All"

"Heya, If ya all would bring what ever you've found I'll work on getting every thing split even. I also propose that if we don't have an even split the remainder should be put in a common fund to pay for group expenses like lodging and food. We could even give a share to families of victims. Should we be able to locate some. What say you?"
OOC: I’d say long rest and if there is food and such here take some time to go through them to figure out our next move... is this portion considered cleared? Can we rest a few days above ground while we sort through stuff since Kina isn’t all that comfortable being underground?
(OOC: Rachel would suggest getting the documents back to town and rest/review them there. Partly to get the Watch involved, and partly because of what Junior had mentioned about a caravan coming for the captives at some point.)
Barnabus, when you pick up the helm from the priest, you could be mistaken, but it felt like it changed somehow. Looking it over, it appears that it would be a perfect fit for you. If you check out the additional pieces of the suit, they each to the same. (Plate Armor +1)

”Barnabus, I think you should take the armor and Kina the staff, Bart, if you or Cade want the ring you two can fight it out. But if no one wants the ring I’d be happy to accept it.”
Barnabus stands tall and addresses the group with his arm across his chest, "Thank you my friends, I swear I shall use this gift to protect each of you as it protects me."
Barnabus takes his share of the coin. Moving off to the side he begins to remove his original armor and replace it with the shiny new gear. A smile of admiration breaks the normally somber dwarven face as he attaches each new piece of plate. Once fully suited Barnabus can't help but strut around a few steps to admire the smoothness and tightness where each of the plates intersect. Barnabus' smith roots are drawn to the exquisite craftsmanship. His heart swells with pride imaging how much more effective he will be as a protector. He stacks his old armor along with the plate armor that had been found earlier.
"Any of you are welcome to try to adjust some of this to you. I do have smithing knowledge and maybe we can resize some if it if you like."
Wil smiles at Barnabus’s strutting turns to Kina and says with a wink, “Kina, maybe you should use your staff to give Barnabus’s new armor a good quality check, we wouldn’t want him wearing anything defective now would we?”
Wil takes a look in the priest’s room.
