"No, I've gotten over it," Fallin responds to Hondo's question. "Good to know you knew I was still out there... somewhere." He pauses for a minute or two to contemplate. "What I was saying is, didn't you hear the news of that Kelvar spacecraft that mysteriously disappeared and turned up as a wreck on an outer Draconian system?" Fallin finally comes up with the courage to ask Hondo. He's visibly nervous, maybe it's from the sudden awakening he just barely had, maybe it's from remembering the similar traumatic experience from his past.
Staggering into the escape pod is 1 Roy Harvester. Hair sticking up on ends here and there, clothing in disarray, smelling like a stale beer. Roy staggers past and takes a seat. He rifles through his gear a bit looking for that every elusive pack of smokes but, eventually gives up. He takes the palms of both his hands, puts them up to his eyes and forehead and rubs back and forth for a moment, then tries to get his hair to lay down, with little success.
Roy looks around the cabin, giving everyone the once over then in a raspy voice he asks: "Anyone got a smoke?"
After the initial jolting and rattling of the take-off, the journey gradually subsides. An-Ran unstraps himself, reaches for his waistband and pulls out a small, intricate vape, and tosses to the other human with the same precision and swiftness he had when he lifted it from someone else’s pocket amongst the chaos of the evacuation.
“I’d prefer you didn’t smoke when we’re all sealed in this escape pod. “ An-Ran comments, leaning forward in his seat and sees Roy fidgeting the vape. “It’s not mine. “ He adds, matter-of-fact-ly.
Cipher raises an eyebrow but doesnt respond. Instead she looks over the escape pod and ensuring everything was ready to go. Once she is satisfied she straps herself in and looks over to her new companion. "I'm Cipher by the way. Just Cipher. You got a name Dragonborn?"
Nodding somberly, the dragonborn responds. "Firenze Thadesius, formerly of the Southern Reach of Draconia. A pleasure."
He eyes her more obvious augmentations, clearly searching for something about which to make light conversation even as the alarms of the ship blare around them.
"I presume your... modifications are more than decorative?"
"As far as I understand it, without them I would have been dead. Some sort of accident I guess." She shrugs. "If it can be replaced or modified with cybernetics, I probably have it," she laughs.
"Impressive - most impressive indeed! Are you at all familiar with the precepts of Fraa Antarius of Mathel? It is his fourth canticle, I believe, though correct me if I am wrong: 'In flesh, only weakness, but always can strength be found in metal.' I am comforted to be in the presence of one so blessed. Yet... you have no memory of your modifications? They are... mysterious to you? How curious."
“We are being boarded, I repeat, we are being boarded. All escape pods launch. Head down to the planets surface ASAP.” The ship shutters with another explosion, one of the escape pods was blown up before it could launch. There is a planet in the distance, somewhat far away, but with good piloting you could make it there without getting destroyed. It seems to mainly have an archipelago for lands on it, with each island having an orange color to it. Back on the ship, marching is heard, along with some speaking in Orcish, with the only word in common spoken being “Kalhad”.

“Yes, I heard about the Silk Hawk,” Hondo says as he goes to close the airlock. He goes back to the pilots chair. “All evidence points to piracy, nothing more. The crew should have been more careful, flying that close to a Draconian system.”
"You two want to exchange tea cozies while we are at it and have a cuddle?" Roy says a bit frantic. "I think being boarded does have a few bad things that come along with it so, can we go?"
"Yes, we'll leave it at that," Fallin simply says. "Although I was one of the passengers on that ship." He sits in silence as they prepare to launch, trying to keep calm and meditate in the midst of all the chaos.
(Every escape pod gets one pilot. The pilot makes a dex check in piloting [its a skill that you get prof bonus in if it fits your background] while the passenger can make an intelligence or wisdom check to provide them with help)

In the other pod, Firenze looks over at his human companion. "Are you safely installed? Do you require assistance?"

*Wait, which escape pod is Roy in? The one with Hondo and Fallon or the one with the Dragonborn and the human?*
my bad, I assumed the group had gotten into the same pod.....will change if needed
(I think Roy and An-Ran are in a pod together.)
"Yes, we'll leave it at that," Fallin simply says. "Although I was one of the passengers on that ship." He sits in silence as they prepare to launch, trying to keep calm and meditate in the midst of all the chaos.
As the pod starts to descend down towards the planet, Hondo doesn’t look disturbed that Fallin was on the ship. “So how did you escape?”
Fallin shakes his head. "Took an escape pod at the last moment," he lies. "... you know, kind of like this situation." He returns to meditation.

Firenze will pilot if Cipher can successfully interface with the onboard systems for support.
Firenze's piloting roll (no proficiency from background, as far as I am aware.): 22
