Shaking from the adrenaline and injuries, Syl draws the rapier from her hip and moves to flank the remaining guard, stabbing towards his exposed back. As her blade plunges, green flames spark at the tip and run along the length.
Convinced the threat against her is gone at this point, Kal drops concentration on the Shield of Faith over Syl, switching to a mark against the remaining guard. Pivoting to an offensive stance, he swings his sword twice in rapid succession against the man.

I had forgotten we use flanking. Good call sneaky lol.
vhoom vhoom. Twin blasts crack against the remaining man standing in quick successive. You hear bones crack, and a gargled groan as the man falls to the ground clutching his chest. Blood begins to leak out from underneath his mask.
Silence befalls the woods once more, as the traitorous advisor lays crumpled on the ground at your feet alive, but unconscious.
Kal lets out a sigh of relief. "That was less difficult that I expected once the other two showed up." Stepping over the bodies, he walks over to Syl and places a hand on her shoulder, letting divine energies flow(Lay on Hands, 18HP). Next his attention turns towards Calmaius. Splitting off some pieces of rope from his length, he binds the unconscious man's hands behind his back, tying loops around the thumbs to stop him from performing somatic components of spells. With another short length he ties around his mouth, gagging him. "If you want to rifle through his pockets, now would be the time. This one deserves it I think." He says with a smile, pushing himself back up to his feet.
"Walking back into the city with him like this might cause a scene. Does anyone have something to put over his head?"
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Usul gets a mischievous grin on his face and he walks over and begins to go through the pockets of the unconscious advisor, as well as the two downed guards. ((investigation 24))
Silthras nods to Kal, "I think we need to search all of them; the kinds on men he hires will tell us much."
With that he offers help to any who want to investigate, making sure all the bodies are searched. The black armour is reminiscent of the attire of the bodies in the mansion.
After Kal successfully ties up and gags the advisor, Usul and Silthras get to work searching his person and the two bodies. First off, you easily find the metal rod he was hanging onto, though you're unsure of what it does - as he never seemed to have a chance to use it. There is a gold signet ring(5gp) with the seal of his imperial position on it, and a dagger on his hip. His pack contains the normal gear you might find - a torch, rations, bedroll, etc...You also find two rolled up pieces of parchment in the pack, which turn out to be a Spell Scroll of Darkvision and a Spell Scroll of Knock.
Although the garb of the other two is black, now that you're closer you realize it is very distinct from the kind that was worn by those in the manor. In the manor, the armor they wore was simple leather, and the clothes over it were just random pieces of black clothing. These two are wearing something more uniform-like, though it's not something you've ever seen before in a military or mercenary group. You remove their masks, which vaguely looked to be in the liking of crows, and find two human men. Similar to the advisor, they're both bald, and look otherwise unremarkable with no distinct markings. Strangely enough however, their tongues have been cut out.
The both carries shortswords, light crossbows, and quivers of bolts. Additionally, you find that each carried two vials. Two have been emptied completely, but the other two you see contain some clear, oily liquid.
Sylnora puts her sword away, nodding her thanks to Kal as the healing effects take hold. "Thank you. I was a little careless there at first." While the other two look over the bodies, she'll pick up the rod and give it a cursory glance over. "Once we have some downtime tonight, I'll identify this for us."
In answer to Kal's other question, Silthras nods. "I have sacks, and a bedroll. Wrapped in both, unconscious, and draped over the back of a horse, he'll be hard to recognise. But...do we want to question him ourselves, first? It would be...embarrassing...if we made a mistake with this one."
"He doesn't strike me as the type to be intimidated." Velyra chips in, closing in with the others. "In the morning, I could have some tricks ready to get him to speak, and speak the truth, whether he wants to or not." She looks down at the unconscious man. "So if we want to question him ourselves first, we would have to camp out somewhere."
Silthras thinks for a moment, "He would best be questioned in a dark hole surrounded by rock, to reduce the risk of magic and prying eyes." He looks back towards town, then into the forest. "So, the palace, or the place where the portal lies -- it's well hidden, at least."
He sighs in frustration, unused to having to choose the right side. Those niceties he usually left to others. Eventually his gaze settles in the direction of the town. "In for a silver, in for a gold. Let's just take him back to the baroness."
As the others talk Usul quickly refills his quiver with some extra bolts just to be safe, as these look well made, and also pockets the signet ring, adding, “If we need to send a letter back from him this could be useful.” Then, almost as an afterthought, decides to take one of the crow-like masks and puts it in his pack.
Silthras will put the remaining items in a sack, then put them in the mans backpack and tie it to his horse. Glancing at Usul as they work, he says, "Her ladyship may require all of his possessions returned. But it's best he's not carrying them if he wakes."
Into a sack: Dagger, scrolls, purse(?), and other mask. Check other bodies for purses or other identifying items, brands, marks or tattoos (other than tongue!).
When he is done, he turns to Syl, "Are you able to tell if any of their gear is enchanted, including the tongue-less ones?"
Kal nods, "I think that's the right choice. At the very least, the keep will provide a safe place to keep him until we can question him. Though given the amount of treachery already involved, I'm not sure if any of her guard can be trusted." He says as they prepare to make their way back to the horses, and then back to Silverfair. "Perhaps we can volunteer to keep watch over whatever cell they throw him in until morning."
You do also find a coin purse in Calmaius' containing 80 gold pieces and 290 silver pieces. After another thorough search of their persons, you don't find any identifying marks, nor anything resembling an insignia or symbol of some kind besides the masks.
After the spell finishes casting, you're able to see an evocation aura over the rod, but nothing else is glowing with the tell-tale sign of magic.
((If there's something else you want to do, let me know and we'll rewind. Otherwise, onwards!))
Returning to your mounts, you secure their belongings and tie Calmaius on the back of one, wrapped in a bedroll. It's unmistakably body-like, but no one will be able to discern his identity...
You ride back to the city, passing the same guard you did on your way out. He seems surprised to see you back so soon, but closes his mouth after seeing what you're carrying. At the gate to the Baroness' castle, you're met with three of her personal guard. Wordlessly, one escorts you across the bailey to the actual keep. This time you are taken to the left upon entering, down a series of stairs and a damp hallway. You pass several cells in the hall, filled with men in their undergarments. They're clean cut and fit - presumably imperial soldiers from the barracks.
At the end of a hall is a reinforced door with a large padlock. Your escort unlocks it for you, leading you into yet another hall of prison cells, though these are empty as of yet. He opens one and nods. "Toss 'im in and wait here. Lady Anet will be down in a moment."
He turns on his heel and leaves out the door, thought you don't hear him lock it again on the way out. Sure enough, about five minutes later Anet Sholte walks through the same door, flanked by two of her personal guard. A delighted - and frightening - smile spreads across her face upon seeing the figure in the cell. "Excellent work. And very quick. Was he alone?"

Forgot the money my bad. xp
