Thenmer goes to Barthen’s Provisions. When he enters the store, it is mostly dark, with two torches on the sides of the room lighting it up. It seems like the proprietor - a lean and balding man that looks to be in his fifties - was just about to close the store. The shelves of this general store stock most ordinary goods and supplies, including backpacks, bedrolls, rope, and rations. "At this time?" he says upon hearing the door open, standing with his back to you. "Okay then, but make it quick." He turns to you and crosses his arms. "What do you want?"
"Apologies Barthen, had to go and try to warn the midwife of danger and lost all my food persuading some monster not to eat her."
He picks up some meat, potatoes and flour to make portable food for a few days. He picks up a couple of days worth of hard trail rations, hardly pleasant food but he calculates that he might get stuck out of town for a while.
"I will just take these and not keep you up any later."
He takes out his almost empty purse and hands over most of his remaining silver for the food supplies.
After leaving the group, Dolgrim goes to the Edermath orchard in the north-eastern part of the town to get some rest. When he gets to the orchard, he goes to a little shed that serves as his temporary home for now. Dolgrim puts away his armor and hammer and puts it to the corner of the shed. For a while Dolgrim rummages thought an old chest, standing in the other corner of the shed, until he finally finds what he was looking for. With a smile he pulls out a half empty bottle, with a silvery beard emblem on it. With the bottle in hand, Dolgrim sits outside, under one of the apple trees and takes a long sip of the bottle. Now, that's a proper mead, thinks he and takes another sip...
Before the sun is about to rise, a friendly laughter wakes him up. Next to to him is standing Daran Edermath, an old Half-Elven owner of the orchard, and Dolgrim's old friend.
Dolgrim: Morning pointy-ears, I've been adventuring yesterday. Maybe I'll become an adventurer like you were.
Says Dolgrim, while holding now empty bottle in his hand, and bursts into a friendly, deep dwarvish laughter.
(Yes, sorry. I was waiting to see if any of you still wants to do something before the night. I wanted to ask you about it yesterday but forgot. I'm going to skip the night assuming none of you (other than Thenmer) did anything but if you did want to do smth, you can still do it assuming the night didn't pass, before you do anything "today".)
Dolgrim:
"Morning to you too, sparse-beard. Adventuring, huh? You'll need to know how to keep yourself alive while you're at it. Let's spar a little, show me what you got. I bet I will hit you twice before you can land a hit on me!" He pulls his rapier - which he always keeps on him in case trouble arises - out and gets into a stance. "Let's dance!"
Everyone: The sun rises and you feel refreshed after a good night sleep. Thenmer and Barthrum are at their house, Dolgrim is in the orchard.
Fatholph:
Tell me where you sleep first. If you choose the tavern, the price is written in the 'Locations in Phandalin' part of the original post.
Dolgrim stands up, his legs still shaking after the last evening, and grabs a stick fallen from the nearest tree. He grabs it in both hands and takes a huge but rather clumsy swing...
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
D: Bah, That's why we wear armor. Not even your elvish sword can pierce a proper dwarven armor.
Says Dolgrim grumpily while also trying to hide* his frustration from being beaten again. Dolgrim slowly pushes Darans rapier away with his stick ((in the "out of combat" way)) and picks the empty bottle form the ground.
D: Anyway, I should meet the townmaster.
((Rolls: *deception/performance: 16; attack: 6 (this includes +3 str, but no proficieny since I am not sure about sticks category) feel free to ignore both of them if you wish ))
Daran doesn't seem convinced and when you try to attack him, he easily dodges below your stick, just to stop short of your chest again. "Not good. Let me teach you some moves. What do you prefer - bows? One handed weapons? Two handed ones? Just being better at protecting yourself?"
D: I let enemies break their weapons while trying to pierce my armour and smash them with my hammer.
((I am planning to use the versatile hammer - in ambushes 2 handed, when I have time to prepare (take my shield from back and equip it) 1handed + shield, trying to focus on defense a bit more, but not on dexterity))
"Alright!" He says. "Let me show you some things so that this beard keeps returning with the dwarf connected to him!" You then train with him for a few hours on various fighting styles. Eventually, he stops and nods. "That'll be enough for now. I have things I need to attend to. If you stay alive for long enough, I might teach you more in the future." And he goes towards the orchard to take care of his plants.
(Since you started at sunrise, which is ~06:30, it will now be about 09:00 or a slightly after.)
Thenmer finishes his rather basic breakfast and packs away his travelling food, in case the do decide to leave soon. He heads over to the center of town with the note from the midwife to deliver it, then to see whether the others are ready to take on the journey to warn the dwarfs.
"Barthrum is with me. We three may be all there is today. Shall we go see if the man will pay us for our work yesterday before we decide what we should do next?"
He pulls out the note from the midwife and starts to walk into the townmasters hall.
Thenmer calculates whether he has enough money to replenish his food. He decides he probably does.
”If that is what you prefer”
He heads off to buy some ingredients while the store is still open.

"The midwife? Doesn't matter. I'm sorry if I sound rude, it's been a long day ye know. That'll be (*) silver pieces."
*(5 sp per ration.)

He looks at the food, perhaps enough for five days if he is careful, and hands over the last of his money. He ties the empty purse back onto his belt.
"Well thank you for letting me buy the food anyway, good night to you"
With that he leaves and returns to his cottage, knowing that he does not have the coin to pay the rent next time it is due.
((Supposing I can "skip time" for Dolgrim))

D: Dwarves don't dance. Dwarves fight!
... which Daran dodges with ease...
Daran moves around, poking and laughing, until he lands a hit on Dolgrim's chest.
He stops short though, less than an inch from Dolgrim's chest. "Dead. If I hadn't stopped, you would have been dead now. Again."
(You can roll for the attack, don't bother with the dmg though.)

Dolgrim, picks his equipment form the shed and slowly walks to the job board, to meet the other dwarves.
Thenmer finishes his rather basic breakfast and packs away his travelling food, in case the do decide to leave soon. He heads over to the center of town with the note from the midwife to deliver it, then to see whether the others are ready to take on the journey to warn the dwarfs.
"Ah good morning to you Dolgrim. You look well"
D: Hello Thenmer, thanks, I was able to train a bit in the morning. Have you seen the others?
Barthrum is right behind Thenmer.
"Barthrum is with me. We three may be all there is today. Shall we go see if the man will pay us for our work yesterday before we decide what we should do next?"
He pulls out the note from the midwife and starts to walk into the townmasters hall.
As you approach the hall, you see the door is closed and a note is on it, written with the same handwriting on the notices on the job board.

"Oh. Right. I suppose we have to go elsewhere then. I think I may remember which house is his"
