"Dang, these guys are tough," Mittens exclaims as his work fails to take hold again.
Roll 1: 1
Mittens jobs behind the group, his tiny legs pumping to keep up. The bards begin playing a song, and Mittens complains, "I hate this song," as he covers his ears to drain out the music. A few feet later, he slips and faceplants into the snow.
Dexterity Saving Throw: 18
Mittens pulls up short as new enemies rush to engage them. He rolls up his sleeves and pops his knuckles before chanting out an arcane phrase and hurling a javelin of hissing green venom at the barbarian.
Action: cast ray of sickness at the barbarian. Attack: 7 Damage: 13 poison damage.
22 Dyn Gwelw (OOC: The DEX save should be +3 due to Dyn Gwelw’s DEX bonus. Total = 7, and the Dreyen Archers think you move too fast & smoothly to be worth a shot. Re: Inspiration--”The [object of Bardic Inspiration] can wait until after it rolls the d20 before deciding to use the Bardic Inspiration die, but must decide before the DM says whether the roll succeeds or fails.” We’ll keep your first attack roll, and I’ll roll the 1d6 inspiration to add to that, 5, totaling 15. You hit!) Dyn Gwelw’s dart strikes home, slicing the wolf as it leaps across the packed snow. It falls, rips the dart out with its jaw and flings it aside, then focuses on Dyn Gwelw with cold eyes and leaps forward!
19 Mittens’ray of sickness beams over Dog #1 and strikes the Dreyen full on, the pale green javelin seeming to ignore the barbarian’s armor completely as it drills straight into her solar plexus. She suddenly folds and vomits blood, her violet face now taking on a yellowish hue, but she rises again and continues her advance, raising her war hammer as she comes. (OOC: she failed her CON save and is poisoned until the end of Mitten’s next turn).
17 Ka’imi’s eye is unfailing! Whoosh, another arrow strikes its mark, and the injured Wolf takes another hit and crashes down, sliding and turning in the snow, dead. (OOC - You should keep track of the arrows, since the Elven ones can be hard to find away from The Tree. We’ll say you picked up the other two from the prior melee, so right now you’re only down one.)
17 Ednyss (OOC: since the Wolf is down, we’ll say you attack the barbarian, knowing she is now poisoned and will get disadvantage on her save.) Once again, the rays of dawn reflect off of your sigil and a finger of golden flame reflects back upon the Dreyen, who takes 4 points radiant damage!
15 Wolf [Dead]
14 Barbarian. Raising her 2-handed war hammer high and screaming a terrifying whooping sound, the Dreyen Strong Arm uses her full movement to arrive at D6, engaging Ka’imi, Varielky and Dyn Gwelw in melee, and swallowing bile yells in accented Jenghen (common), "You are cowards, hiding behind the Blue Banner (OOC: Jenghen Imperial colors) to pillage our lands!! I will avenge my family, burned out of their homes, and you will die where you stand!"
11 Varielky’s long sword flashes to life as the Dreyen attacks, slicing across and drawing a line of blood almost the length of her thigh and inflicting 8 points damage! Varielky then drops to a kneeling position for a lunging shield bash, which the barbarian should have seen coming--and would have, if more puke wasn’t fountaining up her nose. Varielky’s shield connects with her opponent’s weakened leg, the Dreyen’s feet slip out from under her, and she comes down hard on her side. (OOC: Is now prone)
6 Dog #2 leaps forward (to D5) to attack Varielky! (OOC: the Dog has advantage on attack rolls against a creature if at least one of the Dog's allies is within 5 feet of the creature and the ally isn't incapacitated.) The ferocious animal leaps up and catches Varielky’s sword arm in its mouth, then whips its head back and forth, causing 4 points piercing damage!
1 Dog #1 leaps forward(to D7) to attack Dyn Gwelw and rolls 20! His temple still throbbing with pain, Dyn Gwelw is knocked off his feet and the Dog latches onto his shoulder, an inch from his neck, inflicting 4 points piercing damage, bringing him to 0! Dyn Gwelw is down! (OOC: Please start rolling death saves)
(OOC: The barbarian leader, now prone, poisoned and bloodied, along with the two unscathed dogs, remain active, drawn up in a line facing Varielky, Ka'imi, and [fallen] Dyn Gwelw)

Ednyss shouts to his fallen comrade, "Now is not your time! We must fight!" He then sends a small burst of healing energy towards Dyn and blasts the barbarian with radiance or swings his War Pick at the Dog.
Action:
If the Barbarian is alive: Sacred Flame on the Barbarian (Requires a DC 15 Dexterity Save) On a failure, the Barbarian takes 5 Radiant Damage
If the Barbarian is dead: War Pick (Against Dog #2) - Attack: 21 Damage: 8
Bonus Action: Healing Word on Dyn Gwelw Dyn heals 9 and comes to consciousness (Unfortunately Dyn is before Ednyss so he will still have to roll 1 death save and will not get to act this turn)
Move Action: None

“The mark of a successful DM is when you have caused more player deaths with doors than dragons, demons, or devils.”
"Pillage? I don't pillage! Neither am I a coward and if you want me dead, just come here and try!" Varielky then charges forward and attacks.
Move towards the barbarian, or one of the dogs if she's dead. Attack: 17 Damage: 6(I'm assuming that the barbarian is not prone anymore, or that the attack goes for the dog, so I didn't apply advantage). Bonus Action: Shield shove on the same target, or another if it's dead. Athletics: 7
"Yes! It finally worked!" Mittens gloats as his spell makes contact. His excitement over his spell drowns out the barbarian's words as he gets caught up in his own little world. Realizing there are more snaps him back to reality, and he throws another enchanted snowball at dog 1.
Action: cast frostbite on dog 1. DC 14 constitution saving throw or take 4 cold damage and have disadvantage on its next attack.
Move: Mittens would like to back up 10 feet away from the enemies.
"You don't know us, and you don't know anything about us."
(OOC, are we the bad guys? Who knows, but this barbarian can eat a fart) (OOC again, these rolls have been ridiculous, no doubt heading for a big round of crap)
Ka'imi pulls out his sword and takes a slash at Dog 1, Attack: 17 Damage: 5
Remembering that he can also take a Bonus Action, he slashes again with his right hand - Attack: 11 Damage: 4
(OOC - when you take a second swing do you add the To Hit bonus and not the To Damage bonus? That's what I did)
22 Dyn Gwelw [death save = yes!] - Dyn Gwelw loses consciousness and has a vision!
You see the deserts of Orraca u Shia. You are lying on the sand, and the sun seems to hang low in the sky, baking your flesh with licks of flame. After these last weeks in the North, it is almost a relief. Then, you are in the mountains. You see a girl. Something is about to happen to her, and your heart is heavy with this knowledge.
The dream is about to continue, when you are pulled back to waking life by Ednyss’ healing spell and regain 9 hit points.]
19 Mittens’ snowball strikes Dog #1, but its crystalline power fails to penetrate the blue-dyed leather armor (OOC: i.e., it rolled 19 on its CON save). Mittens moves to B2, stepping back over the first glowing track.
17 Ka’imi (OOC: drops his bow, then) pulls out his sword and takes a slash at Dog #1, connecting for 5 damage, deftly slicing its belly as it leaps to attack! (OOC: Your 2-weapon fighting bonus attack only occurs when you have both weapons drawn. You had to drop your bow and draw one short sword this round, so no bonus attack. Next round you can interact with object, drawing your second short sword, and attack twice. My understanding of the second attack is as you wrote above: you get regular bonus to attack, but not on damage. All--if this is incorrect, let me know!) (OOC: Re: “are we the bad guys?” Answer: You’re not a bad guy if you are philosophically in support of the preeminence of the Jenghen Empire! But perhaps Ka’imi begins to wonder if his enjoyment in seeing more of the world on this enforced tour of duty has come at some hard-to-define moral cost…)
17 Ednyss’sSacred Flame continues to arc across to the prone Dreyen, and bright energy begins to show in the veins in her throat and face, threatening to explode in radiant fire!
15 Wolf [dead]
14 Barbarian Leader. The Dreyen fighter stands up unsteadily, and, knowing her end is near, attacks Ka’imi bravely with her 2-handed War Hammer, praying in a tongue only Varielky understands. [“Thuro, give me strength!”] With a tortured grunt, she brings the hammer down and connects with Ka'imi for 7 points bludgeoning damage.
11 Varielky. The Dreyen, practically unable to hold her hammer as holy fire licks around her face, falls to Varielky’s longsword! Varielky then surprises Dog#1 with a roundhouse blow with her shield, knocking it prone!
6 Dog #2 moves 5’ to stand over the Dreyen’s dying body, protecting it despite there being no hope! It attacks Ka’imi, in a frenzy after seeing its master fall, and rolls 20! Ka’imi takes 5 points piercing damage, and falls! Ka’imi is down! (OOC: Please start rolling death saves)
1 Dog #1 attacks Varielky with advantage but misses, growling and snarling!

["By the might of Takal Demesh, may your brave spirit rise above. You fought bravely and for a righteous cause, I'm sure you'll end in Hallvala."] Then, Varielky decides to try a different approach. Killing dogs neither brings her pleasure nor does it serve any purpose for the gods. She decides to raise her sword above and shout, in the Dreyen language she figured they'd understand, ["SIT!"]
Action: Improvise. Trying to intimidate the dogs to stop fighting, now that their master is dead. Intimidation: 18
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Ednyss seeing another teammate fall decides that the best defense is a good offense and unleashes two powerful blows with his War Pick against the dogs in front of him.
Move Action: None (To D5 if Dog #1 dies and attacks need to be targeted to Dog #2)
Action: War Pick (Against Dog #1) - Attack: 15 Damage: 10
Bonus Action: War Priest (War Pick) (Against whichever dog is closer and still alive) - Attack: 15 Damage: 7
Ka’imi is having a pleasant dream of The Tree, and his mentor, and the way that the wood smelled on harvest day when you first pulled an arrow from its nesting pod.
19 Mittens focusing all of his magical power, throws another snowball at the blue-armored Dog #1, which strikes its slathering mouth as the beast twists to pull itself out of the snow! Crinkly blue frost covers the animal’s tongue and nose, it leaps about for a moment, asphyxiating, then, already bleeding from prior wounds, flops down slowly and its eyes roll back in death.
17 Ka’imi [death saving throw--FAILS]
17 Ednyss moves to attack the black-armored Dog #2, and strikes it first sweeping across and breaking two of its legs, then, locking rhythm with the distant song of the ocarinas, driving his War Pick down into its skull to finish the creature.
All enemies are now dead. Ka'imi is still down (OOC: please make another death save), the rest of your party is up. You look to see how the rest of your squad is faring. Alas! at this very moment, the final two are cut down by more Dreyens and War Dogs, who turn to your group with murderous countenances! Your allies did not go down without a fight, and you see several Dreyen dead surrounding them, and you note that the Dreyen survivors, to a man and to a beast, bear wounds from their prior melee.
You have one turn to cast spells or shoot at 60’ range while the Dreyens shout and point at you threateningly, no doubt promising the same fate to you as befell your erstwhile squad members, before rushing you en masse! They are:
Dreyen Leader, helmet adorned with red-painted reindeer antlers, limping from an arrow wound in his right thigh.
Young Barbarian #1, holding a throwing axe and a maul over his back, bleeding from a slash across his chest.
Young Barbarian #2, holding a battle axe and round shield, her face bruised and swollen from some crushing blow.
Young Barbarian #3, holding a throwing axe and a battle axe in her other hand
Dog #1, leather armor bloodied, limping
Dog #2, black leather armor charred, and one eye bruised and puffed shut
Dog #3, unarmored, impaled by a crossbow bolt in its side
They will attack from the North.
Please state your actions (in any order) prior to the coming melee. All foes are now 60' away, moving toward you and dodging.

Ednyss rushes to Ka'imi's body and pats him down for the potion that he got from the leader and uncorks it. He then gently opens his mouth and pours the potion in his mouth. He whispers, "You saved my life and I have repaid the favor. Let us continue this fight." He then stands and steadies himself for the incoming onslaught while rallying his comrades. "We have defeated two groups of their kind thus far! We are warriors! We will not fall! Let us show these barbarians that they are messing with the wrong squadron!" Ednyss rushes to Ka'imi's body and pats him down for the potion that he got from the leader and uncorks it. Let us show these barbarians that they are messing with the wrong squadron!" He then rushes forward and locks shields with Varielky readying himself for a fight.
