"Well I guess this cave isn't going anywhere. And we probably don't have to worry about anyone else exploring this area before we do thanks to our friend with the axe."
The party makes their way out of the cave safely. Walking along the beach, they see that the Wet Trout's lights are bright. Chatter from the patrons inside can be heard from a distance.
Upon opening the door to the Wet Trout, the party is greeted with a full house. Seating is sparse as townsmen fill the establishment with a low roar of discourse. No one can stop talking about the events that took place earlier in the day: "The red wizard Dzaan! Finally burned at the stake for his crimes!!!" There shouldn't be any ice dagger murders after this!"
A pair of waitresses can be seen frantically pacing through the restaurant, desperately trying to take orders. After a brief scan, the group can see Imdra Arlaggath seated alone at the bar.
Errona wastes no time on approaching Imdra. Once she gets her attention, she says in plain speech "We were too late. I am sorry there were no survivors... We barely survived ourselves."
Imdra looks to Errona, sighing. "I figured as much. The waters in that part of town are known to be particularly treacherous. Even then, that particular group of fishermen was especially experienced. Could something else have been amiss?"
As Lumen follows up, Imdra rubs her temple. "A hag you say? That is certainly worrisome. Would such a being be a threat to the townsmen?" She looks up as if remembering something. "On the topic of threats, I confiscated these items from Dzaan shortly before he was put on...'trial'... Perhaps they could be of use to you.
Grey Bag of Tricks
Bag of Tricks Wondrous Item, uncommon This ordinary bag, made from gray, rust, or tan cloth, appears empty. Reaching inside the bag, however, reveals the presence of a small, fuzzy object. The bag weighs 1/2 pound.
You can use an action to pull the fuzzy object from the bag and throw it up to 20 feet. When the object lands, it transforms into a creature you determine by rolling a d8 and consulting the table that corresponds to the bag's color. See the Monsters Listing for the creature's statistics. The creature vanishes at the next dawn or when it is reduced to 0 hit points.
The creature is friendly to you and your companions, and it acts on your turn. You can use a bonus action to command how the creature moves and what action it takes on its next turn, or to give it general orders, such as to attack your enemies. In the absence of such orders, the creature acts in a fashion appropriate to its nature.
Once three fuzzy objects have been pulled from the bag, the bag can't be used again until the next dawn.

curiously fascinated with all clothing and accessories, a23 accepts the bag with great joy. his eyes glow a bit brighter as he enthusiastically traces the arcane symbols embroidered along the seams.
he takes a lose strap and securely fastens it around his waist...and suddenly feels a small fuzzy orb.
”wizard tricks”
he sits next to eronna at the bar in silence poking and prodding the fuzzy orb delighted with the mysticism of his new bag.
Errona sees Roc get up and says "You wanna leave tonight? I was at least hoping to hear that bars sing of his ghost tales at the white lady inn in a few minutes..."
The adventurers decide to pay visit to the White Lady Inn for Rinaldo's Seance.
As they enter, the bard looks as if he is ready to leave. With a shocked look, he exclaims: "Ah~ I...I was just about to retire for the night! So you decided to come, Elder Lumen? You and your wonderful friends~!" He unpacks his fiddle. "We'll get started straight away! Right this way~!"
In one of the inn's back rooms, the group sits and watch:
Smoke from burning incense clouds the room. Multicolored lamps and silks are hung from the rafters, and the light from several candles illuminates a circle of uncomfortable-looking guests sitting cross-legged on the floor.
Rinaldo pushes back the sleeves of his robe, raises his hands, closes his eyes, and intones, "Lady who watches from the lake, come to us in our darkest hour! Tell us what you've seen!" After a moment of silence, thick frost forms on the inside of the room's windows, turning them opaque, and the candles go out one by one.
"Please, friends~! Assist me! Let us call out to the spirit of the White Lady together..."
Characters who wish to help Rinaldo must make a DC 12 Charisma (Persuasion) group check.

Lumen grunts as he opens his eyes and tries to get up.
" There are some wise words. "
Roc slaps his knees.
"Well I guess this cave isn't going anywhere. And we probably don't have to worry about anyone else exploring this area before we do thanks to our friend with the axe."

”a logical suggestion. let us return once we are better prepared.”
The party makes their way out of the cave safely. Walking along the beach, they see that the Wet Trout's lights are bright. Chatter from the patrons inside can be heard from a distance.
"Mmm, yes. I think we deserve a meal." Lumen says quietly as he smells the tavern.
Errona follows lumen into the tavern and looks for the captain to tell her the grim news...

Lumen does his best to stumble in and join the table. " Yes. There was a..."
He looks around at all the people in the room before leaning in close and whispering.
" Hag of some kind in the cave. She was sadly well into a meal on the missing sailors when we arrived and dispatched her."
Imdra looks to Errona, sighing. "I figured as much. The waters in that part of town are known to be particularly treacherous. Even then, that particular group of fishermen was especially experienced. Could something else have been amiss?"

" Oh, very interesting. I guess we will get to the bottom of what these are."
He orders some nice bar food to munch on.
Roc starts reading the Scroll of Fireball then averts his eyes.
"Ah! I am not sure how these work but I think I almost set us all on fire."
Roc pulls his chest up and sits it on the bartop.
"Eat your food. We have a discussion we need to get a HEAD of..."
Roc gives a wink.
Errona rolls her eyes at Roc and orders another ale.
The group enjoys their well-deserved recreation at the tavern, filling their bellies with food and ale.
Several options lay before them:
Roc stands up.
"Alright, everyone has had their fill! Lets be off to see Hlin Trollbane."
Errona sees Roc get up and says "You wanna leave tonight? I was at least hoping to hear that bars sing of his ghost tales at the white lady inn in a few minutes..."
“traversing the dale at this hour with hostile weather would likely result in an icy death. but you have more experience dealing with this land”
