Thavriol shakes his head. "I can't do that, but I'll take the lead." Once everyone gets sorted out, the paladin moves into the opening, all senses alert.
"I have some torches then." Nolla says with a nod. She tugs out one and lights it. "I'll take up rear position with my light, hopefully letting those in the front still be able to see with their darkvision."
As the group heads into the hole, it starts off with a gentle slope, but gradually gets steeper. You get the feeling that something has burrowed and dug this out, especially given that Hurdig said he'd never seen it before. The earth at your feet is hard but enough loose dirt and debris shows you the tracks left behind by the farm hands and the spidery creatures with them.
After travelling underground for about half an hour, you round a corner to a gruesome sight. Before you, in an alcove to the side of the tunnel, is a bloated and ugly looking creature. The body of a oversized spider lies collapsed on the ground, but rather than the usual many-eyed head that you would expect on a spider, you all see a long, eel-like neck and head with sharp teeth lining its mouth. The creature is obviously dead, with parts of its bloated body devoured and smaller versions of this creature similarly lie about the bloated body, also somewhat devoured.
(OOC - At the gruesome sight, I need all of you to make a Stress Check/Wisdom Save for me.)
Can you refresh me on what you are looking for? Is it just a WIS save or something else. Also what level of Stress do we have at the start of this. I think Nolla might have a bit less than the others, as she had some bad experiences last time around...

(OOC - it's just a wisdom save for the stress check. Some might have a level of stress already depending on previous adventures and whether they spent time &/or money to reduce/relieve their stress. If you've not been on any adventures as yet, you would have 0 stress to start and it goes up from there.)
As you all take in the sight before you, all but Alix shudder and take a point of stress from the bloated corpse of the creature before you. It would seem that Alix's patron has put him through some ordeals in the past and so the decay and death before him does not affect him as it does the rest of the group. The rest of you however, the heart quickens, eyes widen, and the mind feels that slight pressure of what horrors you're likely to encounter as you venture further.
What would you like to do next? Move forward to investigate the creature, look for any other creatures, just move on?
Nolla swallows hard, barely able to manage to keep from bolting back out of the tunnels. She steps away from the creature, turning her eyes away and moving a step further down the tunnel. She holds her torch up, not letting herself look towards the thing again, images of a head on a pike coming to the forefront of her mind, and needing to be forcefully pushed back down again. "Someone able to look at that thing closer?" She asks, turning her head to speak over her shoulder, but keeping her eyes focused on the tunnel ahead of her.
Sienna takes a knee, shaking visions of shipwreck and the creature that caused it from her mind, the long neck drawing paralels in her mind to the many long appendages the creature had itself. She quietly starts humming to herself in a tune of an old sea shanty and slowly stands.
"I-I can take a look, although I'd rather not alone, if someone could come with me..." she looks around the group taking a tighter grip on her rapier

@DragonDenn - make a perception check for me to keep watch down the tunnel.
@CarethWarder & whoever wishes to help Sienna - make an investigation or survival check depending on what you wish to find out with checking the bloated mass closer. Also, if someone just wishes to help then one person rolls advantage or you can individually roll as well, I don't mind :)
Thavriol swallows hard as he takes in the sight of the creature. He would've thought the years with the Watch would've inured him to these sights but apparently not. He feels his stomach clench and his heart speeds up. He swallows again.
"I will assist you, Sienna," he says, walking with her to the bloated corpse. His Lord Tyr understood weakness but never letting it get in the way of duty.
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Alix looks at the poor creature dispassionately for a moment, then nods as if agreeing with someone. He steps closer to investigate the scene before him, his black journal open as if to either read or take notes.
Investigation: 8

“Hmm. Fascinating. The dark is no hindrance to me, but unfortunately I posses no ability to facilitate anyone else’s ability to navigate in it.”
Sienna follows behind "I have no light sources either but it looks like we have that sorted"
She heads down slowly drawing her rapier
