The monster lets go of Ryota and turns towards the living creatures attacking it. It moves forward and lashes one tentacle at each, trying to grappe a new prey. Attack: 11 Damage: 3 against Luther. Attack: 16 Damage: 4 against Thariv.

Luther drops his longbow and draws his rapier. With gritted teeth he tries to maintain his calm and ignore the growing chanting of Gruumsh in his ears. His new friends need him, and it is his skill, not his anger, that will save him today.

Thariv goes limp after the monster hit him. Seeing that only a single opponent remains, it lets go of the unconsious half-elf and lashes at Luther. Attack: 6 Damage: 4 Attack: 23 Damage: 7

With Truffles snapping at the choker to distract more than harm, Luther recovers from the lash and strikes back with his rapier (advantage due to the Help action of the plucky kitty) Attack: 14 Damage: 11
He then draws on his martial training to recover his breath and draw on his last reserves of energy (bonus action to use Second Wind) and regains 11 HP

Luther remains a picture of calm composure, but inside his spirit is boiling. The blood is pounding in his ears as he fights off the nagging doubt that he might not win this one. He banishes the thought and draws on his training - both martial and personal - to target a weak spot on the choker. He knows that he has to end this now.
Truffles once again distracts the choker (with a Help action), hissing and pawing from behind.
Luther lunges in with his rapier Attack: 25 Damage: 12
(OOC: Get in! Just got to hope that's enough to do it!)
Luther stabilizes Ryota easily. Having fought alongside humans, their combat wounds are easy to patch. Thariv proves to be a bit more difficult, but the bleeding stops and his breathing becomes regular.
Seeing that their companions are stable, Deathfang and Squeaks curl up protectively over them. Keeping watch for intruders.
OOC: Ryota will be back to 1 hp after 2 hours, Thariv after 1 hours. Time to go back to the main thread.
