Hi so I've been playing a gunslinger fighter who had been brought back from the dead by the Raven Queen and we're nearing the end of his arc and being redeemed for his actions and being separated from the raven queen and I'm looking for what to do with his class now as I do not think being a gunslinger would work anymore. My character was very adamant that he only used firearms in order to enact revenge on those who had forsaken him and I feel that if he was redeemed he would stop using firearms.
Currently he has a really high dex, constitution, and intelligence and we're level 12 as of the moment
Any rogue subclass or fighter subclass would work well with those stats, or, if you really wanted to follow in the 'redemption' path, the oath of redemption paladin would be a cool switch and from what you've written i think would work very well with your character's story. It's not the best stat-wise as it's more cha based, but at least there's nothing stopping you from running a dex-based paladin (i had to reread the class just to double check, but nope, there's nothing restricted to str in the class!).
You can multiclass, but this would mean you keep your 12 levels in gunslinger, if you give up the use of firearms you essentially become generic fighter 12/ new clax X where you don't use any fighter subclass features.
Tasha's provide a possible route to changing a subclass, this would need ot be discussed with your DM but if he is in agreement and fighter subclass would work. Psi warrior Eldritch Knight and Arcane archer would take advantage of your high intelligence but you would do fine with other subclasses, you can either go rapier bow/crossbow though some subclasses would make you lean into one of those.
While there are no rules for it as such you and your DM could decide to let your character completely change class. You choose a new class/subclass and select all the class features, unless you went rogue you would have one less feat ASI so you would need to decide whether to just drop 1 of whether you can rebuild those as part of your class features.
The final option is that been redeemed results in him stopping being an adventurer he retires to a life of peace and you roll an entirely new character. In one campaign I played a fiend warlock who thought he had made a pact with a celestial being (based on the devil posing as an angel of light in 2 Corinthians 11:14). We were level 9 by the time he realised the true nature of his patron and was so horrified that he determined to never use the magic the fiend gave him again. He went off to try and find a way to get out of the pact and I started playing a new character. I had discussed options with the DM well in advance (in fat from character creation) and as the character developed and with the DM saying finding a way out of the pact would take months this appeared to be the right option.

There are a couple of ways you can do this.
