So 13yo Dragon Boy (total RP experience ~5 hours) is enjoying himself so much that he wants to DM for 7yo Ninja Princess. So far he has taken her through Crimson Hood (with help from Mum). Any suggestions for her next adventure? She is playing an elven ranger named Eowyn (she has an IRL friend called Eowyn) -- because bows are cool and go "Ptooey!" I think we want a bit more gore than "The sad dragon needs a friend" but evil cultists sacrificing children to demons is probably swinging too far in the other direction. Any ideas of something that will work with just one player or maybe 1 + 1 NPC, and straightforward enough for a new DM?
BTW I took Dragon Boy and his younger brother the Bard through First Blush which was OK but I found the storyline a bit vague so it would be good to use something different. With more opportunities for killing. Because there's no point being a Ninja Princess elven ranger with a bow that goes "Ptooey" if you don't get to kill anything.
Check out Sunless Citadel from Tales from the Yawning Portal. It can be adjusted, very easily, to be kid friendly, has a good story line, and you can turn it into a "Disney" type story mixing in a number of various characters from the movies as influences on the npcs.
It's a low level game with very little in the way of confusion, very simple "Find this, get that, defeat him" type of game.
I am going to play off the "Disney" type storytelling and go one farther. One of my current games meets too infrequently for me to really feel like a complex world and adventure series work. We are talking like once every 6-7 weeks for 5 hours, so not a lot of time. So, I decided to make each adventure about a cartoon children's movies reskinned as a D&D adventure. Now the player's are adults but we have run games based on Finding Nemo, Gremlins, and now Legend. It is actually kinda fun for the adults now to start guessing what film is the basis of the story. The Gremlins game was a blast. Make the game based on, but not strictly a recreation of a famous movie! I think that this might help him develop fun and engaging games for his sister or anyone.

I ran one which I believe was called “The Wolves of Welton.” It’s from an independent group that I can’t remember. It could be one session or it could be many sessions, depending on how the player(s) handle the situation. There could be fighting, sneaking, politics, or other possible solutions to the problems at hand. It’s fun. I recommend it for your situation.
It’s very kid-friendly, introduces themes of being caring and helpful ( Through a good deal of the quests. ), the basics of roleplay, exploration, and combat, and the pillars of the game, just take out the half-orc lighting preist and replace him with a crazy old hermit, all in all, great starting campaign for beginners.

i'v started that one but i am yet finish it, i also recomend "a most potent brew" which is about clearing a basement of rats, and finding a wizards laboratory. You can find it by searching "a most potent brew" on the dmsguild
PS: it's for 4 level one characters so 1 level two character should be about right

Why fight if a lively chat is possible? If things get out of hand, just show yourself out with a dimension door.

If you want a one-shot, google "A Wild Sheep Chase." I ran it for my 9yo and 13yo nephews and they enjoyed it.

I've heard that Dragon of Icespire Peak is very child friendly.
I, along with a friend, wrote this adventure for kids who are 9 to 13 years old.

This one may be a little too gory, but...
...a goose hydra...
