Hi, I would manage the characters of my players to have a "real" copy of the characters (players make often errors). I would like they can claim the characters but I don't would they can modify them. I will use the characters on dndbeyond during the game to understand better what spells they have, how many slots, ecc... Is it possible?
I have access to the Characters that are participating in my campaign I could edit them quite fundamentally if I wanted to... does that answer your question?

Yes. Require that the Players simply either hand over there physical sheets to you at the end of a game or join a campaign you have created on DDB. Either way you would have custodial and even editorial access to their sheets. I require this for my groups because I rather like to just hold on to them in their character folders. Over the years I have seen too many lost or "corrupted" sheets to do it any other way.

Thanks for your reply, but I mean that they can view their player but can't modify them. I wanna be the only person that allow modify the characters. They use phisical sheets to play and I would have their characters on ddb to assure me they don't make mistakes.

Thanks, but as I told in my previous answer I don't want they can modify the characters.
You can create the characters using your account, print them out (export to .PDF) for your players to use during game sessions. Then when they level up, they write down what they want and you would then have to update your characters, and re-print the character sheets.
Tedious, but if you want that much control... that is an option.
I have the opposite preference. I want my players to give me their characters' back stories, but I don't want to see the details of their character sheets. That way I don't tailor anything to a specific character's strengths and weaknesses, I only tailor my adventures to what the characters want/like/don't want/dislike.
I like knowing what their characters’ capabilities are so I can properly challenge them, but I expect my players to take care of themselves. If I notice a mistake I politely point it out and they fix it. We use paper character sheets though.
Yes, this is perfectly possible. Just make the characters on D&D Beyond as your own characters (make them publicly viewable) and then give the players the appropriate links. Since they’re “your” characters, the players won’t be able to edit them, but since they’re public, the players can still see them.

But then you will also have to be the one to track all of their spell slots, HP, and Ki/Sorcery points from round to round and Hit Dice, Ki, and Class Features from rest to rest. After every long rest you will have to be the one to prepare all Of their spells. That sounds like a giant pain in the butt on top of everything else one has to juggle while DMing.

That’s exactly what OP is asking for. They don’t want their players to be able to edit the sheets. The players use paper sheets during actual play in any case.

No, that is not possible on DDB. You would have to use paper character sheets.

But that's my personal preference.

Sure, but again, it’s what the OP is asking for, and it doesn’t seem like they’re going to be fiddling with them during live play.
