I've noticed a few threads get really close to crossing the line of the Forum's Rules.

Advertising on D&D Beyond
Advertisements for non-beneficial and/or non-related websites, businesses and/or organizations are not allowed on DDB. If you wish to advertise the website of yourself or someone else that has a relevant theme, we would appreciate it if you ask permission first.
Send a private message to any of our moderators or website admins before making a thread. Also, we do not allow more than one thread per advertisement. We reserve the right to refuse advertisements for any reason whatsoever.
When discussing advertising, does it specifically refer a) commercial enterprises and b) to starting threads? If I were to (for instance) have a blog where I write things but do not market myself as a writer or troll for work, would a link to that in a signature be considered 'advertising', or should I read these rules more as 'don't make threads or comments mentioning an endeavor that makes you (or someone else) money'.
I can't really give you an exact answer to this because my interpretation is just as good as anyone else's. I'd surmise advertising yourself in your signature is ok as long as it's relevant and tasteful. I think this is a rule intended to prevent people from advertising websites or services that are not in DDB's best interests or are of questionable content. Best rule of thumb, if you want to advertise your services or website for profit, ask first. :)
We're doing our own book on Kickstarter! It's going to be amazing--300 pages, art, and so much high quality content you'll be drownin' in it... Click here to check it out and sign-up!
