So, I've been running a 5e campaign for a while now and have some ideas for cards for things like items, relics, spells, etc. I'm looking for a cheap way to print off various cards I want to make for my players. Some will only have 1 copy per deck and some will have multiple (C, UC, R, UR). Anyone have any ideas for printing these off in a way that I can select the number of each card I want printed off for a fair/cheap price? Not wanting to spend all my gold on this. ;)
Personally I use my regular home printer and print them on sticker pages. A google search for printable sticker pages will show you what I mean. You then paste them on cardboard or reinforced paper.
Here is an example of what the front of the cards will look like. (Note: I do not own the rights to the image contained on the card). If people are interested in using this template I will find a way to get the template shared here. I am also going to do a template for relics and for items. I am ALSO going to do a template for the back side of the cards. Hope yall like it. :)
Nice work! I hope that your players appreciate those! :)
I made a bunch of item cards a while back for my main group and got them printed on decent card. They loved them and whenever the group received a new magic item, they'd all crowd round to take a look.
Similar to you, these were for personal use and I don't own the artwork, though I mostly stuck to art I was able to find on google, with the "rights free" tag enabled.
I used a site called Doxzoo, which cost me 32p per sheet, double-sided colour print on decent card.
If you're in the UK, I can recommend them. If not, there seem to be many similar sites out there - the difficulty I found is most companies are geared up to print off large volumes of each print.

Could we be looking at a template for a future feature? wink, wink, nudge nudge
I'm seeing a lot of people reading this thread but not commenting. Would people like me to start a thread where people can post their card templates, examples of their cards, and how to make them?

I've been looking around and I've seen a few things, but nothing that lets you specify the number of which cards to build a deck, just decks of a single card...

Ok, so I figured I would post some of the items cards I've made so far. Let me know what you think!!!
I'd say to kinda redo the texts so that its more readable, maybe also make the text box lighter?
Because yeah, when you zoom in and the thing is the size of a notebook, its perfectly readable, but if you plan to hand them out in a standard card size, then its unreadable.
At least to me wiht a bad eyesight and glasses, i can't see anything else then lines of slightly blurred textes and have to squint hard to be able to read it.
So advice would be, text box white or at least lighter then the actual color, and a neutral type of font and larger.
One other way to do it is to rezise the images to be smaller, so that you'll have more space for larger textes, because its not neccesary to have them be so large, if they're 20% smaller it would also work, while giving you more place to write stuff in a larger font.
Some nice designs here. I made the condition cards to pass around when 5e launched and we still use the today. I just printed mine on my home printer, even aligned and printed a back side of the card. Then I took them to a local mailbox/office supply store and got the 8.5" x 11" sheet laminated, then cut them out. Worked like a champ.
I started doing the same for magic items, and like a previous poster, when I pass them out everyone would hover over it to see what it was. I had trouble fitting the contents of some items on a card though. I have since stopped doing this for magic items but my players still ask where's there card. :)
I was thinking of making a template the size of a regular deck of cards, then hit up the dollar store to get the packs that are only $1 (regular sized). Print off on sticker paper, cut to size, stick and you are done.
thoughts?

I just want to tell everyone "happy gaming" and actually mean it. Whatever your game is, just have fun with it, it is after all, just a game.

Nope, that's just something I made myself, for my own use, before D&D Beyond existed. :)
