I'm running a homebrew campaign soon and i want to make my own model of an asteroid spider (variant), and i was wondering if anyone had an idea of what to use or some extra details to add?
Well, the Asteroid Spider is Gargantuan, so with normal D&D Mini Scale of 1" = 5'-0", you are looking at something that will be at least 4" (Gargantuan size is 20'-0" and larger).
With a mini that is at least 4" in size, you have a LOT of options.
First thing that comes to mind for me, would be the following:
Body: Golf Ball or Small Foam Ball (to keep it light weight).
Legs: Pipe Cleaners (you can bend to any position you like before building them up).
For the Sculpting of the Spider to make it look like it should, I'd do the following:
Hot Glue the legs to the body.
Use Hot Glue in layers to build up the basic shape.
Use a stick of Plumber's "Fix-It-Stick" as a coating and to mold the 90% body and legs.
Use a Dremel to sculpt the final details into the hardened Epoxy.
If that sounds like WAY too much work, then you could always pick up a Toy Spider, and paint/modify it.
Breathe, dragons; sing of the First World, forged out of chaos and painted with beauty. Sing of Bahamut, the Platinum, molding the shape of the mountains and rivers; Sing too of Chromatic Tiamat, painting all over the infinite canvas. Partnered, they woke in the darkness; partnered, they labored in acts of creation.
