Hey everybody! I didn't know what heading to put this under so if this is the wrong spot can someone move it for me?
Anyway, am I a painter and I'm working on my Drow Druid. I have the design set and drawn but the actual painting is giving me some trouble. I have no idea what the proper undertone for a drow would be. She's on the purple end of the spectrum, so should I use black or blue or red? I know it's an odd question, but I figured the DnD community would know best. Thanks in advance!!!
As a painter too, I would use a blue underpainting, and adjust the hue depending on how luminescent you want her skin. Red might make them look too grape'ish and black might be hard to detail unless you are doing something in high contrast. Good luck. Hope you share your progress and or final work :)
Blue ink wash base, dry brush white on highlights then dry brush purple into the white areas, then cover with a dry brushed layer of black or dark blue.
