Im thinking about springing on a few of the Hirst Arts molds. I was wondering if anyone has any advice in the molding process or a preferred brand of plaster? Could one be any better than another?
I know a lot of people re cast thier molds to use resin and not ruin the original mold, but that stage is still a long way off for me haha

Welcome to the Grand Illusion, come on in and see what's happening, pay the price, get your ticket for the show....
I would recommend going here https://www.facebook.com/groups/44641935828/ Fans of Hirst Arts Fantasy Architecture. The people there are very helpful and can even recommend where to get plaster, and or silicon if you would like to make your own molds from pieces that you cast.
Hey there! Did you end up finding any decent information about the plasters, molds, silicons etc.? I have been using cheap Walmart Plaster of Paris and its not too bad as long as you don't move it around from place to place very often. However the way I look at it, the more beat up the plaster structures the more realistic it looks. (Going for that weathered look haha)
