Recently ran a master's game where the DM awarded us the Gloves of Soul Catching at the end... was this correct? I see a blurb in the Content stuff that crafting the gloves is an Evil act that removes character from play... does that go for wearing the item? Just making sure it's all on the up and up. :)
Absolutely not :). The item can not be awarded for adventurers league play.
"Gloves of Soul Catching. This item cannot be crafted. Attempting the ritual is a deeply evil act that removes said character from the campaign."
The adventure does NOT include Gloves of Soul Catching - they are not physically present as treasure in the adventure. The only information in the module are instructions on how to make them. The above content clarification for the Master's campaign makes it clear that crafting the gloves is not an option in AL.
You should let the DM and everyone at the table know that these are not available for AL play.
P.S. In addition, the gloves are Legendary so they wouldn't be available until a character is level 17 in tier 4 even if they were AL legal - which they aren't :)
Thanks. I knew about not being able to use Legendary items until tier 4, was just checking on the actual item since when I started reading about it after I added it to my character sheet i saw some things online about the item being evil and delved further. Thanks :)

The item is not evil. The crafting of it is evil. How can an item have alignment its not sentient.
PD also a legacy item like the one you get from running tomb of annihilation can be turned into this when you hit legendary. Status
