I’ve always been interested in creating dungeoncraft but I don’t want to make an adventure that deals with wildpsave and outlandish things like killer clowns
I want to make a dungeoncraft set on the material plane of the forgotten realms but people are telling me I’m forced to make dungeoncraft set in wildpsave due to the seasonal theme
Surely this isn’t true? It would be a little stupid and unfairly restrictive, not to mention illogical as forcing stuff like that onto adventures is going to discourage people from wanting to create adventures for AL
Kinda. You can write Ravenloft, Ebberron, and Dragonlance DCs, but the current Forgotten Realms setting is Spelljammer. Some people have complained about it on the Discord server, but there's no way to know if that's going to change. That being said, the new adventure book coming out in September (usually the new season book) is Phandelver, so the DC setting will likely shift back to Faerun at that point.

When phandelber releases… can I still make a spelljammer DC? I really want to make a dc about a planet of brass dragons and I’m worried time isn’t on my side due to stupid AL rules
The new rules haven’t been released yet, so there’s no way to know for sure until they are. While DCs have so far corresponded to the season, it’s the DC documents that determine what’s allowable. I don’t personally write DCs, so you’re probably better off asking in the Dungeoncraft channel on the official D&D Discord server for more specific info. I think there might be a grace period, but I’d not quote me on that.
