I am new to D&D in general, and I just started playing Adventures League. I am absolutely loving it! (side note: The Adventurers League site is terrible) ((double side note: dndbeyond is beyond amazing!))
I have played several sessions and I have progressed to 4 levels. Currently, I am a basic level 3 Fighter Archers variant human with Sharpshooter, I know I know soooo unique. At level 3 I took Battle Master, the Precision Attack help and Parry was really handy. At 4 levels I am thinking of dipping into Cleric one level to get a combat medic thing going.
Edit: I have never used spells, this is all new to me.
My current plan is for 5 levels is to go back into the fighter and take the ASI to increase Wisdom (which will give me another War Preist attack at Wisdom+3) and Dexterity (which will lower my To Hit by 1 with Sharpshooter). Then at 6 levels doing another level in Fighter to get my second attack. I would appreciate any feedback and advice!
I think you should keep the normal Longbow and sell the other one, then get hand-crafted arrows or some with elemental imbues.....
The build isn't bad considering you are focusing in Dexterity instead Strenght but, later you'll need more Strenght for anything related to carry loot or to drag & drop whatever.
A dex based fighter is a perfectly good build. Many folks doing it put their strength at 8 or 10 and use the other points elsewhere. In AL your carrying capacity is your strength x 15 (or 120lbs even with strength 8). Other than that encumbrance isn't used much in AL. It won't be an issue unless you tell your DM you happen to be carrying around too many heavy items and they think to check into how you could carry it all. The one point where it does see more use is if you want to use a broom of flying and the total weight for you and your gear is over 200lbs (which slows down the broom).
Remember that until after you have played your first session at level 5 (tier 2) you can change everything about your character except the name :) ... this means if you don't like how the fighter/cleric plays you can always change it.
I'm not sure where the suggestion in the previous post for hand crafted arrows or elemental imbued ones comes from. They aren't available to a battlemaster fighter as part of their gear and you can't craft or buy them in AL as far as I know unless you play an adventure where they happen to be available.
Level 5 is a signficant bump in capability for most classes. By taking a level of cleric at level 4 you are certainly more versatile but you delay extra attack until level 6. It may not be a big deal but a lot of folks would wait on the cleric level until after level 5 of fighter or even level 6 for the next ASI.
As for your stats, there is nothing wrong with them. They look pretty good. however, many people might choose to start with 10 strength and 14 constitution. As a fighter you start with constitution saving throws so you won't be taking resilient constitution to bump your constitution to 14. (Odd numbered stats are less convenient since it doesn't actually give your character any benefit). A 10 strength gives you a carrying capacity of 150lbs and is adequate for most things. You won't be as good at Athletics but your acrobatics will be ok. (I have a variant human Xbow expert/sharpshooter battle master fighter who is level 5 and their stats are 10 16 14 10 10 14 at the moment - he will boost dex at level 6 and 8).
You could then choose to take resilient wisdom as a feat instead of an ASI at level 4 fighter which will bump your wisdom to 16 and give your character proficiency with wisdom saving throws which will be useful. At 6th level of fighter you could then choose to increase dexterity by 2 points to 18 (+1 increase in modifier) with your second ASI. Alternatively, if you don't plan on adding more cleric levels for a while you could use the ASI's at level 4 and 6 of fighter to increase dexterity to 20 and then take resilient wisdom at level 8. It kind of depends on what you really want to do with the cleric level and whether you plan to add more levels in cleric later. (Boosting dex is good because it increases your to hit, AC and initiative).
Best of luck with AL and hope you keep enjoying it :) ... I've been playing AL for about 3 years now and find it fun too.
Thank you David42, you gave me a lot to chew on!! This is great :)
Great catch guys, I did get the arrows in the story campaign, just at the end of the session.
You make a great point on holding off into that dip of Cleric. You know, I could be cheeky and take the 3 Fighter/1Cleric to the next game for giggles and get the extra war priest attacks (for one encounter), then in the next session come back as 5 fighter before hitting Tier 2.
Thank you for taking the time to type this out, I really appreciate it!! I have a lot of playing to do in the Character Creator to try out your ideas!
I hope I am playing AL three years from now as well, thank you :)

Hello, mates

Here is my 4th level build (3 fighter/1 Cleric): https://www.dndbeyond.com/characters/23545602
And here is a cheat sheet I made to help me keep track of what is at my disposal. Looking at four pages of options on the Character Sheet is overwhelming for me right now, I tend to forget Bonus Actions. If you see any mistakes or have any ideas please let me know! https://docs.google.com/document/d/1vlHCnW1DYHx8KEMYrHtK3u7cFH3KlB2kGnaZmBl8n-s/edit?usp=sharing
