Has anyone had any experience running a Nightwalker encounter? While it isn't the BBEG of my campaign (That would be Nerul, yes I still use Nerul boo to the Raven Queen) He is the final fight in the plot arch.
What is the best way to present him in an encounter? And with the finger of death spell they either fail the save and die or succeed and take 3d6 +1 per caster level. But when it says die does that mean roll a new character die or begin saving throws? Rules are unclear.

"Killed" means "killed". A dead person doesn't make death saving throws; they're already dead.

They mean really die. Like...hope someone in your party has Revivify prepared or you are looking at making a new character...sort of death.
