I would like to create some custom factions and or groups the party can join. But my brain is deprived from any ideas. So does any one have any cool ideas of a group and or faction?
Do you have any specifics? Seafaring factions, militant factions, artistic factions? That’d help narrow things down a bit.
Here’s some ideas, though.
Rebellion. A rebel faction of former outlaws or pirates, now dedicated to the fight against some evil force. Provides the characters with transportation and funds, provided they’re firmly committed to the fight. If the characters betray the faction or ally with the enemy in any way, the Rebellion sends assassins after them.
Spider Guild. A guild of inventors and explorers dedicated to the obtainment of knowledge and secrets. Pioneered much of the world’s technology. Joining requires a character to display all traits valued by the guild, with an emphasis on free thought and creativity.
Merchant Conglomerate. A notorious alliance of merchant and bankers that govern many areas where the law isn’t enforced. Similar to the real-world East India Company and Hudson’s Bay Company. Focuses on profit and nothing else. A good candidate if the players have started a business in their downtime.
Blades-For-Hire. A guild of assassins and mercenaries that accepts any party, regardless of their reputation. Offers a bounty board, which can start quests and plotlines.
Mob boss slime i the sewer system who has been fed from all the potions that have gone wrong that were just dumped down the drain...sentient slime with sending...yes I'm totally a chaos gremlin, but think of all the opportunities 🤔
The Velvet Blade: A smugglers and thieves group led by corrupt nobles/VIPs who use the criminal operations to stuff their pockets and increase their power.
