There's a tribe of giants that live natively with the land. They have a Great Hunt every XX months/days/years where they compete to see who is the strongest, and then the strongest go to fight some legendary dinosaur or something.
Also the Dino Races in Chult from the Tomb of Annihilation book are very fun. That whole book is pretty chock full of dinosaur adventure ideas.

I know what you're thinking: "In that flurry of blows, did he use all his ki points, or save one?" Well, are ya feeling lucky, punk?
I would have them discuss their feelings - We can all relate - right?
(Just kidding want Van to hit 1000)
I've run a game that was basically Jurassic World - they were breeding them to be fighters and the team had to rescue them. In my game they gave the plane over to the dinosaurs but you could easily make it that they have to be returned to their native planets (hook).
I ran a two shot based on the old TV show "land of the lost". It was fabulous. An unidentified portal transported them into the land. They needed to collect gems from the sleestaks so a portal could be activated to return them home. Add in many dinosaurs and lizard people for sleestaks.

I think you should probably steal the idea from Jurassic park. Only the pCs get hired to go rescue a researcher.
An alternative candidate for plagiarism Inspiration is Dinotopia - it was on TV back in the late 90's or early 00's.
The premise was that the island of Dinotopia was a place where the herbivores and humans lived in peace, and they had the Sunstones which were remnants of the meteor which killed the dinosaurs. These glowing rocks could keep the carnivores away, allowing them to all live in peace, provided nobody asked questions about what the carnivores eat or anything deep like that. However, the Sunstones were failing, and more outposts were being overrun by carnivores. The carnivores were very much a "if you see one, run" kind of threat. The main plot followed two brothers who washed up there after a shipwreck and their struggles with wanting to fit in and wanting to escape (pulling in different directions). At the end, a one-legged dude revealed he has a submarine and thinks he knows where to not only get new sunstones, but that he can escape the island with the two of them to become rich, leaving the island to their doom. They then thwart him, good triumphs, and so forth.
The whole plot would be a ticking clock to find the lost sunstones to save the civilisation on the island. You can rehash the adventure as dungeon crawls, and can add D&D monsters to jazz it up some (tarrasque as the BBEG?), but not only does it work quite well for the D&D adventure framework, but I can remember the plot some 20 years later!!!
In Tomb of Annihilation (Things to Do in Chapter 1), there is a whole Dinosaur Racing segment. I started building a whole Racing League for a campaign once... we just never quite took off with that one and I lost all my notes on it. It is still a fun event there (racing dinos in a port city) and easily expandable to whatever degree you want to make it. Of course, I would also take inspiration from Warcraft and Un'Goro Crater where the giant dinosaurs live and rampage.
I mean, Yuan-Ti might work if the planet is a jungle setting, if there's a marsh area, Bullywugs might live there. A mountainous area then Aarakocra would fit in there. Alternatives could be custom races or some race that I don't know about. Anyway, from there you can add stuff like territory disputes. Problem with dinos. Civil war.
Heck isn't there a fey magic thing in the DMG (2014 version, I don't have 2024 version yet) where fey influence makes animals smarter. You could do something with that and have smart dinos. Throw in a tarrasque living in a volcano and you have a fun dinosaur planet.

Monster Fact of the Day: Tarrasque
Tarrasque's have a magical regeneration and are able to reflect spells back at its enemies

In case it should inspire anyone, I have the lore in my world that dinosaurs were created by primordial dragons as a servant caste to the dragons. They ultimately waged wars, which means that most dino fossils in my world have armour and weapons with them!
There was a module called The Isle of Dread from the 80s. Maybe you could use it for some ideas for your dinosaur adventures, environment, descriptions or settings.
Look up Dead Sound on YouTube. The dude has an epic dark fantasy series set in a world completely populated by humanoid dinosaurs. It's incredibly awesome and the art is really, really good.
Tricerataurs (reskinned, buffed minotaurs) have a war-like, gladiatorial society and they capture the party, forcing them to fight in their gladiatorial arena.
Pteradrakes (reskinned dragons that have pterosaur features) attack the spell jammer ship as it flies over the planet.
The party encounters a herd of stegosauruses. These are magical beasts and their plates are made of very valuable crystals that might have some use later on, but they have to fight both the herd and the kobold raptors that are there hunting the stegosauruses.
Well - if I were doing this, and I wanted a simple solution, I'd say crash land the players ... miles and miles from the one possible dock slash repair shop they spot on their burning path to the surface of the planet. Well, now we gotta trek overland for a few days to the dock slash repair shop for spares for the Helm. Across dense jungle infested with dinosaurs - and worse, mosquitos.
Anyways, once they make it to the dock slash repair shop, they find it's operated by an ancient AI bound entity, and all it's plans revolve around helping you repair your ship while also making you accidentally free it from it's mainframe lock magic circle. Or whatever it's held in, personally I imagine it's in a glowing box filled with strange sigils and symbols.
If the PC's think of it, the box can be removed and installed on their ship, enhancing and automating it.

Blanket disclaimer: I only ever state opinion. But I can sound terribly dogmatic - so if you feel I'm trying to tell you what to think, I'm really not, I swear. I'm telling you what I think, that's all.
