Description

"Ye don't understand fool!
I saw the end of the world in the maw of that... thing!
We're all doomed! What's the point in life anymore?"

 - Fredin, 12th Regiment of the Lost King's Sceptor

Nobody really knows what the Umbravore is. In fact, Umbravore isn't really its name, it is just what it is most commonly referred to as. It has existed before the gods, tied to the astral plane, its supposed home. The Umbravore is a colossal humanoid made of complete darkness. Looking at it for too long causes serious hallucinations and memory loss. Hallucinations consist of several things but are mostly visions of the future or past. The two visions of the future documented both came true roughly. The first 11 years later and the other 938 years later. The Umbravore doesn't attack any creatures, instead on Hallow's eve it stalksthe countryside before returning to the Astral dimension. If it feels threatened, it will attack the threat, although this has happened only once and it was when a Ancient Gold Dragon set out to attempt communication with the Umbravore (which failed). The resulting battle ended with the Ancient Gold Dragon nearly dead and the Umbravore returning home. Many scholars have wondered as to way the Umbravore even comes to the material plane. Our best guesses range from it likes the feel of the air to it wants to eat our sun.
