So I’m dming Storm King’s Thunder tonight and wanted to make this session special for my Brother in law’s birthday. He’s playing a bard with a thick Louisiana accent that raps for his spell focuses. I wanted to do something fun but I’ve only got half of an idea.
His character is on the run from a noble he pissed off so he doesn’t want to be caught. My idea was the party arriving in a bar to find another bard posing as my brother's character. This npc would then start spouting off some of my brother’s raps. He’s written down all his raps and I got his wife to send them to me today. I’m thinking in the long run, this will possibly lead to the noble finding him. But for tonight I feel like I need a little more. Possibly a bardic rap battle but I’d need a better mechanic than straight performance rolls.
I’d love some ideas from fellow DM’s.
