I'm trying to create a fey god/archfey I can add to a backstory that can be plopped into any of a number of homebrew settings. My concept is an Oath of the Ancients paladin who committed a war atrocity, wandered into the woods to die by suicide out of regret, and was "saved" by this fey patron, at which point he swore an oath to excise evil from hiding places in otherwise good life and among the living. I'm stumped! Any advice?
Do you need help creating the Archfey Patron itself? Do you need mechanical help working out the pact spells and such or are you more interested in wanting flavor and story help?

Maybe your patron is a sort of Archfey Kipine that wanders the woods on moonlit nights, and took interest in your paladin in his time of great distress.

Flavor and story. I just had the idea for something involving owls and the moon....
Here's a good image to start:

I think this is a great concept. Three questions to ask yourself may help you find your purpose for this archfey.
If you can answer these questions, it may help you fill in a lot of the blanks for the kind of patron the archfey should be.
