I am looking for ideas that will help better my characters but can be done outside of a city or town. I am looking for things like writing a book or attempting to learn a language. Something that can be done at a few hours at a time while on the road or before going to sleep or while on watch.
Any ideas?
My current ones include writing/reading a book, learning a language, playing with an animal or sharpening blades/ cleaning weapons. My players are often looking for ideas on what to do before their watch or while in a carriage etc.
