I'm currently writing up a prophecy and new religion and could use some second opinions from fellow DMs. There are a few of my players here that follow me so it will need to be done through private message.
Thanks in advance.

Lightning Strike - A rebranded Fire Bolt for Wizards & Sorcerers.
Spirit Bomb - A holy fireball for Clerics, Paladins, & Divine Soul Sorcerers!
Sword Dancer - A Cleric subclass specifically for the Drow goddess Eilistraee.
Some general advice on prophecy and religious text creation...
Read some real-world stuff to get an idea... Some of Nostradamus' couplets, prophets from the Bible, other holy books, etc. I am not advocating any particular religion here, but that you study the form and flavor of the text. For example, prophetic works from Judeo-Christianity are often couched in very flowery language and metaphor, rarely meaning literally what they say. For instance if they say "The great garden will be burned by fire," it does not mean that a farm is going to go up in flames. For instance, the fire might be enthusiasm/passion, and the great garden might be a person. The "burning" might be in the metaphorical sense we mean when we say a contestant was 'burned' in a game or match -- i.e., the statement might mean that the minister of agriculture will be ousted from office. Just as a simple, rather dumb, example.
Also for religious texts, again pay attention to how the language is often phrased. For instance, at least as it is translated from the original, the Old Testament has a lot of opening statements to paragraphs like "And so it was that..." or "And thus it came to pass that..." Again, study the cadence and word use in these translations -- yes, they are not the original, and yes, sometimes they are just done in the style of the 1600s or whenever they were translated, but in the general sense we have as readers of such things, our minds will latch on to them as "religious" sounding, and it will make your religious texts sound more.... Biblical? for lack of a better term.

Good morning all,

Thanks in advance.

Quicksilver & The Scarlet Witch - A pair of magical firearms for your Gunslinger or Artificer.
Could I have more detail (in PM?)
Enjoy my magic items, spells, monsters, my race, and a few feats. And GIVE ME FEEDBACK... or else.
Like what I say?
