I am currently trying to homebrew a race that gives characters spells once per day: Thaumaturgy at level 1, Detect Magic at level 3 and Misty Step at level 5, but allows spell slots to be used as well if desired.
I first attempted to built this race using Shifter as a base, this proved far more complicated than I desired, so I discarded this option.
I then attempted to re-build my race using Harengon as a base, but I could not get my innate magic feature to save for the life of me, despite attempting three different times. Though I did get the size selection option to work, so that was nice.
I have now attempted to built my race a third time using Fairy as a base. I changed the spell names in the snippet and description, but since the fairy's "fairy magic" feature did not list spells in the mechanics section, I left it blank. In the character sheet it still provided Druidcraft, Faerie Fire and Enlarge/Reduce instead of my desired spells. I then tried to add spell options in the mechanics section, but the character sheet still shows the fairy magic spell selections, rather than my desired ones. Additionally, I cannot seem to get the size selection option to work now either.
How should I go about inputting my desired spells? Any recommendations or help would be greatly appreciated!
If this should be posted in a different area, please let me know.
You'll find the spells in the Options. "Fairy Magic" has 3 options based on which spellcasting ability score you chose. You'll need to edit within each of those Options to change the spells. Each spell needs to be told what ability score to use, that's why it's split up that way.

You're welcome! I had to figure that out myself when I made a variant Fairy race that was more Pixie-like, so I changed the spells to Sleep and Invisibility.

Those spells sound perfect for a pixie race!
Now, any idea how to make the size selection option work? lol
The Size field in Basic Information seems to have "Medium or Small" in the dropdown.
