Okay, so I've spent several days now looking for a topic like this, and even started a thread and got one response that wasn't very helpful(despite the intention)
So, what if you wanted to add an item that you could add to your inventory that could give you a benefits such as an extra feat, skill, expertise or proficiency of your choice once in your inventory. Now I don't think I could have one item that could have the option to give you one of all of those things but I could easily see making multiple versions for those different things like have one that once in your inventory it gives you a feat have one that once in your inventory it'll give you expertise at a skill.
My ultimate goal here is to create an item for my friend and I, who are both DM's, to use on !D&D beyond! that we can give a character to give them any feat we want without having to make a new item each time that has a different feat on it. And right now I can't even seem to make an item that will give a predetermined feat once it's in the inventory like some items that exist already much less make one that will give you the option to choose a feat once there.
Once the character sheet revamp has been completed (which should be fairly soon) it will be possible to add further feats/proficiencies etc to characters, outside of the normal rules for doing so.

Though not it the system yet you could make a sentient magic item with those feats, skills, ect. as a bonus the player has access to these if "conditions" of the item is met. Add it under personal items I think....

The system isn't designed to allow this.
